Many women need to undergo professional examinations for further diagnosis when they experience symptoms of suspected gynecological diseases. Currently, many gynecological diseases in clinical practice require vaginal B-ultrasound examinations. Of course, there are many things to pay attention to when doing a vaginal B-ultrasound examination, such as the time and steps of the examination. So how is vaginal B-ultrasound performed? 1. Vaginal B-ultrasound Vaginal B-ultrasound, also known as intracavitary B-ultrasound, is a method of examination in which a long probe is inserted into the vagina or anus to observe the pelvic organs. It is similar to abdominal B-ultrasound examination in that both are used to check the uterus and ovaries for tumors and other related diseases. However, the images are clearer and the person being examined does not need to hold their urine. For married people, they can choose vaginal B-ultrasound, while unmarried people can choose abdominal B-ultrasound or examination through the anus. It should be noted that it is not suitable for people with vaginal bleeding, vaginitis or sexually transmitted diseases. People with diseases of the cervix, vagina, or vulva should also use it with caution. In addition, it is not suitable for people who are in mid-to-late pregnancy, have bleeding during pregnancy, or have large pelvic masses. Generally speaking, combining abdominal B-ultrasound with vaginal B-ultrasound examinations to complement each other will make the examination results more accurate. 2. The best time to do vaginal B-ultrasound Vaginal B-ultrasound should be performed 3-7 days after the menstruation ends. Because the probe needs to be inserted into the vagina during the examination, it is not advisable to do this examination during menstruation to avoid infection and affect the test results. If you use vaginal B-ultrasound to monitor follicles, you can start from the 8th day after the end of menstruation, and check almost every 2 days, or you can check once a day until ovulation begins. If you are pregnant, vaginal B-ultrasound examination is prohibited during the entire pregnancy. It is best to use abdominal B-ultrasound to monitor fetal development. 3. Vaginal B-ultrasound examination method The person being examined needs to empty his or her bladder first and then lie down as instructed by the doctor. Put a special film on the long probe and apply a special disinfectant. The doctor or the person being examined inserts the probe into the vagina. It should be noted that the operator needs to wear a special handpiece and must insert the probe into the vaginal vault. The force should also be moderate to avoid hurting the vagina. When conducting an examination, the doctor can tilt, push, pull, or rotate the probe handle to observe the pelvic structure, thereby achieving the purpose of the examination. When doing a vaginal B-ultrasound examination, you need to communicate with your doctor in time if you feel uncomfortable. In addition, you should explain your condition to the doctor before the examination, and wear clothes and shoes that are easy to take off and change on the day of the examination. |
