What causes premenstrual breast pain?

We know that, except for middle-aged women with amenorrhea, most female friends have to face the arrival of menstruation every month, and quite a number of people will experience various uncomfortable symptoms, such as dysmenorrhea, headache, abdominal pain, severe pale complexion and general weakness, and some also experience breast pain. So what kind of pathology is this? Is breast pain at this time a normal physiological reaction? Let’s discuss this together below.

Women often experience breast pain a few days before their period, which disappears naturally after their period comes. Many women think that this is a normal premenstrual phenomenon and do not seek treatment. As a result, when they are older, they are more likely to suffer from serious gynecological diseases such as uterine fibroids, breast hyperplasia and even gynecological tumors.

So what is the inevitable connection between premenstrual breast pain and uterine fibroids, breast hyperplasia and gynecological tumors?

According to the meridian theory of traditional Chinese medicine, female breasts belong to the liver meridian of foot Jueyin, and are connected to the uterus through the Chong, Ren and Du meridians. Therefore, if there is a problem with the liver meridian, there will be a reaction in the above-mentioned parts.

The most common condition in women that is related to the Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian is liver depression and qi stagnation. The specific manifestations of liver depression and qi stagnation include irritability, depression, fullness in the flanks, etc. If the depression lasts for a long time and turns into heat, it will cause restlessness, anger, dry mouth, headache, etc. If the liver meridian's qi stagnation lasts too long, it can easily cause pathological changes in the areas where the foot jueyin liver meridian passes. As a result, breast hyperplasia and uterine fibroids will occur. In layman's terms, liver depression and qi stagnation can easily lead to diseases such as breast pain, uterine fibroids, and breast hyperplasia.

Regarding premenstrual breast pain, most of them will disappear after menstruation, but if it does not disappear, then we have to consider whether it has nothing to do with menstruation, and whether there are other more serious problems such as breast hyperplasia or even fibroids, because the prelude to these diseases is breast pain, so when this happens, it is better to go to the gynecology department for a check-up immediately to rule out the possibility of other diseases as soon as possible.
