Menstrual period is stringy and sticky

Menstrual period is stringy and sticky

Whether a woman's menstruation is normal or not is still of great significance to the health of her reproductive system. If the menstruation is abnormal, women also need to seek medical attention in time, find out the cause, and then adjust their bodies to ensure the health of their reproductive system. So, what does it mean when menstrual blood is thick and sticky and the amount of menstrual flow is small? How to deal with it?

1. Causes of scanty menstruation

The causes and pathologies of scanty menstruation can be both deficiency and excess. Deficiency is mostly due to physical weakness, serious illness, long-term illness, blood loss, or diet and fatigue that damage the spleen, or sexual fatigue that damages the kidneys, which leads to deficiency of the blood sea and reduced menstrual volume; excess is mostly due to blood stasis in the body, or phlegm and dampness stagnation, which block the meridians, poor blood circulation, and reduced menstrual blood. In addition, congenital uterine hypoplasia is also a cause of scanty menstruation. The uterus is very small and deformed, so only a small amount of endometrium is shed, resulting in scanty menstruation.

2. Causes of irregular menstruation

There are two main reasons for irregular menstruation, that is, there are two reasons for scanty menstruation and thick, stringy menstrual blood:

1. Caused by neuroendocrine dysfunction: mainly due to unstable or defective function of the lower hindbrain-stomach-ovary axis, that is, menstrual disease.

2. Caused by organic diseases or drugs, including local inflammation of the reproductive organs, tumors and developmental abnormalities, malnutrition; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions such as thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes, Sheehan's disease, liver diseases; blood diseases, etc., use of drugs to treat mental illness; those who use endocrine preparations or intrauterine contraceptive devices may experience irregular menstruation. Certain occupations such as long-distance runners are prone to amenorrhea. In addition, some abnormal bleeding during pregnancy is often mistaken for irregular menstruation.

3. What to do if your menstrual flow is light

When you first experience scanty menstruation, it is recommended that you first improve your diet to alleviate the condition. You need a balanced diet and supplement with foods containing vitamin E. Vitamin E plays a role in maintaining the normal function of reproductive organs and muscle metabolism. Foods with high content of Vitamin E include grain germ, wheat germ, egg yolk, beans, nuts, leafy vegetables, peanut oil, sesame oil, etc. According to the different symptoms of dysmenorrhea, foods that warm the body, relieve qi, resolve blood stasis and replenish deficiency are given respectively.

Alternatively, you can use medication, the more effective medications are as follows:

Motherwort Granules: Brown to tan granules; sweet and slightly bitter. The main treatment is to promote blood circulation and regulate menstruation. Used for scanty menstruation and postpartum abdominal pain. Usage and dosage: Take with boiled water. Take 1 bag at a time, twice a day.
