The onset of disease will make people worry, and they will also have many bad thoughts, fearing that they have a terminal illness or cancer. In fact, the disease should be identified by its name. You should understand it according to the name and type of the disease, so that you can know what the type of disease is. Pasteur gland cyst is a very common disease. When it invades our body, it will form a lump. The lump can disappear, and when it is relatively small, it is not infectious. Therefore, you must have a clear understanding of the disease so that you can better face it. In the gynecological clinic, many people come to consult about vulva problems. Some patients worry that something has grown on their vulva, thinking they have cancer. The most common one is Bartholin gland cyst. The Bartholin glands, also known as the greater Bartholin glands, are located behind the labia majora and are covered by the bulbospongiosus. They are the size of soybeans, one on each side. The gland duct is long and slender, opening inwardly into the groove between the labia minora and the hymen behind the vaginal vestibule. Under normal circumstances, this gland cannot be touched. When pathogens invade the gland duct, it can cause Bartholin's gland cholangitis in the early stage. The opening of the gland duct is often blocked due to swelling or accumulation of exudate, and the secretions accumulate and cannot flow out. Further worsening of the infection will form a Bartholin's gland abscess. If the abscess subsides, the gland duct is blocked, and the pus is absorbed and replaced by mucus secretions, a Bartholin's gland cyst will form. Bartholin gland cysts are mostly unilateral. If the cyst is relatively small and there is no acute infection, most of them are asymptomatic. Vulvar cysts are usually discovered accidentally. If the cyst is relatively large, it may cause swelling of the vulva or discomfort during sexual intercourse. This cyst can be clearly seen and touched during gynecological examination. If the cyst is infected, it may be accompanied by local redness, swelling, heat, pain and even Bartholin gland abscess. If the Bartholin gland abscess ruptures, symptoms such as local mass, pus discharge and reduced pain will appear. Asymptomatic Bartholin gland cysts can be observed. If the cyst is large or accompanied by discomfort, surgical treatment can be performed. If the abscess ruptures with acute infection, local drainage is required. If you feel a cystic mass behind your labia majora, don't worry too much, and don't think of it as cancer. Not all masses are cancer. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for a clear diagnosis as soon as possible to avoid delaying treatment. |
