Bleeding again after a few days of lochia

Bleeding again after a few days of lochia

After pregnant women give birth to their babies, mothers will have postpartum lochia discharge during the confinement period, which is the bed period. Lochia is caused by the shedding of the deciduous membrane, uterine mucus, bacteria and other tissues in the uterus. Generally, postpartum lochia will be discharged in about a month at the latest, but for some mothers, the lochia will be cleared and suddenly appear again after a few days. So what happens if the lochia during the postpartum period is clean for a few days and then becomes bloody again?

Under normal circumstances, if postpartum lochia continues to flow for a long time, the cause of this kind of lochia is usually infection of the uterus, or the fetus and other tissues of the pregnant woman are still left in the body, or the uterus is not restored to the waist. It is recommended that mothers must go to the hospital for medical treatment in time, otherwise it may cause serious complications!

Under normal circumstances, the lochia of the parturient will gradually disappear after three weeks. If there is still lochia in the fourth week or it suddenly appears, there is no need to panic. This situation is called persistent lochia.

Modern medicine believes that persistent lochia in postpartum women is a confinement disease, and incomplete uterine repair is one of the main reasons. However, there are many reasons why the uterus cannot be completely restored after childbirth, such as retained fetal membranes, incomplete placental detachment, or combined endometritis or pelvic infection; or multiple pregnancy, old age, multiple births, relatively increased uterine fibroid tissue, etc.

If after one month, the lochia is still not clear, and is accompanied by a foul or rotten smell, or is accompanied by abdominal pain, fever, or there may be infection in the uterus, adnexae (bilateral fallopian tubes, uterus and ovaries), or vagina; if the amount of lochia increases day by day after delivery, the color becomes redder and darker day by day, or bruises appear, they are all abnormal conditions, or there is abnormal uterine bleeding, or internal and external injuries of the cervix and vagina, or infection has occurred. This situation should be paid attention to immediately. There is undoubtedly a pathological factor and you need to go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.
