The difference between prurigo and eczema during pregnancy

The difference between prurigo and eczema in pregnant women is that the location of the disease is different, including the symptoms of skin lesions. There will also be certain differences in the length of the course of the disease, which requires close observation and judgment.

1. Location of onset: Pruritic rash during pregnancy usually appears on the upper limbs of the trunk and the proximal ends of the limbs. The color may be darker, and a small part may be lighter. Eczema usually appears in multiple locations on the body. Most of the symptoms are caused by skin irritation, and the color is generally red.

2. Symptoms of skin lesions: Both prurigo and eczema will cause mild skin lesions, accompanied by itching, but most people with prurigo will have papules or papules on their skin. The skin lesions of eczema are diverse, such as skin erosion or exudation, including erythema, papules and papulovesicles, and some people also have lichenified changes.

3. Length of the disease course: The course of prurigo during pregnancy is generally short and may disappear about one month after delivery, depending mainly on the individual's physical condition. However, eczema will have recurring symptoms and the course of the disease is relatively long. Some people may have symptoms that last for years, which has a lot to do with external stimuli. During the illness, you must pay attention to skin hygiene to promote recovery.
