They are delicate in nature, slightly pointed at the top, painless or itchy, and gradually grow larger or increase in number. The base of the growth is slightly wide or has bands, the surface has granules, the surface is moist or bleeding, pus is often concentrated between the granules, and it emits a foul odor. Scratching may lead to suppuration.

Genital warts located in drier areas with lower humidity are often small lesions that appear as flat warts. Symptoms of genital warts located in hot and humid areas are filamentous or papilloma-like, which easily merge into large lumps.
