Will my vagina become loose after giving birth?

Generally speaking, the causes of vaginal wall relaxation are congenital structural relaxation, miscarriage or delivery, the vagina has undergone expansion and muscle elasticity has weakened, and long-term chronic abdominal high pressure has caused prolapse, such as long-term lifting or chronic coughing. First point: Scientific research by experts from medical academies around the world emphasizes that the elasticity of the vagina is determined by "collagen fibers". The most critical reason for vaginal relaxation is the rupture of "collagen fibers" in patients with vaginal relaxation, which causes damage to the elastic fiber network in the vagina.

"Collagen fibers" support the "vaginal elastic network" like "springs" and lock in moisture like a "water conservancy hub" embankment. The elasticity, luster and smoothness of the vagina all depend on the collagen fibers in the vaginal cells, which are the "tightening factor" of women. After you become a woman, the vaginal wall is torn or often undergoes strenuous exercise. During sexual intercourse, childbirth, frequent sex, abortion, and medical abortion, the collagen fibers in the vagina are "bruised" again and again, and the "vaginal elastic network" is ruptured. The vagina is stretched and unable to contract, resulting in "vaginal relaxation" - the vagina is unable to "hold" the genitals, sexual sensitivity and sexual pleasure are lost, sexual frigidity, vaginal flatulence, the vagina cannot be moisturized and becomes dry, and the relaxed vagina allows pathogenic bacteria and toxins to remain, causing vaginitis, cervicitis, cervical erosion, and even escalating infections to endometritis, adnexitis and other incurable gynecological diseases.

The second point: pregnancy and delivery. During delivery, the fetal head enters the pelvis, compressing the pelvic muscles, fascia and related supporting structures, and each tendon of the uterus supporting the uterus is also greatly stretched. Especially in the case of slow and incomplete delivery, due to the long-term compression of the fetal head, coupled with midwifery such as forceps or vacuum extractors, the pelvic muscles and fascia are often torn, and the related supporting tendons become loose.

For mothers who give birth naturally, since the fetus is delivered through the vagina, the diameter of the baby's head is generally 10 cm at birth, that is, the vagina will expand to 10 cm during delivery (the normal vaginal diameter is 2.5 cm). After the squeezing of the born child, the vagina expands significantly, the muscles and hymen scars are completely destroyed, and the elasticity is significantly reduced. However, since the natural birth of the baby, the mother's vagina has changed, and there will be different degrees of vaginal relaxation.

But it does not mean that natural childbirth is the culprit of vaginal relaxation, because the muscles and tendons of the mother's pelvis are fully stretched during childbirth to prepare the birth canal for the birth of the baby. Therefore, even mothers who have undergone caesarean section will have loose vagina.

The third point: People who have chronic diseases for a long time, are physically weak, and are thin, their muscles, muscle fascia, tendons and other structures are also relatively loose, which aggravates vaginal relaxation.

Fourth point: With the increase of age, women's estrogen levels decrease, which aggravates the degree of relaxation in the vagina.
