Benefits and changes after IUD removal

The IUD can effectively play the role of contraception. In daily life, many female friends who have given birth will choose to go to the hospital for the treatment of IUD insertion. However, after the ring has been in the body for a period of time, for the health of the body, the ring must be removed. So, what are the benefits and changes after removing the IUD? Let's take a look.

1. If a woman takes an IUD and meets the following conditions, it will be beneficial to her health and have the following benefits:

1. If the inserted ring has reached the required period, you should go to the hospital immediately to remove the ring to prevent the ring from deforming or becoming ineffective in the uterus. Generally, metal rings can be stored for 20 years, silicone V-rings can be stored for 7-10 years, and sleeve T-rings can be stored for 10-15 years. A new ring can be put in while removing the IUD.

2. Or if there is a significant change in the menstrual cycle during menopause, such as the cycle lengthening or menopause lasting more than 6 months, the ring should be removed immediately.

3. After menopause, the uterus will shrink. If the IUD is not removed, the uterus will be pierced, which will have adverse effects.

Therefore, for the sake of health and safety, it is better to use an IUD.

4. It has good cross-fertilization and can quickly restore reproductive function after the IUD is removed. Contraceptive pills require a period of discontinuation before pregnancy can occur.

2. What changes will occur after removing the IUD?

1. On the day after the IUD is removed, you may experience mild lower abdominal discomfort, back pain, or a small amount of vaginal bleeding. If vaginal bleeding after surgery exceeds the amount of menstruation, or bleeding continues after about half a month, or abdominal pain is severe, please go to the hospital for a follow-up examination immediately.

2. Some women may experience breakthrough bleeding or spotting in the first month after removing the IUD, and sometimes it may recur in the following months. Some women may experience prolonged menstruation and menorrhagia, especially in the first 1 to 3 menstrual cycles. These are all normal conditions and do not require special treatment. They can be gradually repaired in the future. If the bleeding lasts too long, you can take antibiotics appropriately to prevent infection, and go to the hospital for medical treatment if necessary.

3. You need to rest for 2 days after IUD removal and 1 day after IUD removal. It is not suitable to do too much physical work within 1 week after removing the IUD, especially squatting labor, to avoid increased bleeding or the IUD falling off.

4. If some women have entered menopause, have menstrual disorders or have already reached menopause, they should remove the IUD, preferably within one year after menopause. When the IUD is removed after menopause for more than one year, due to ovarian decline, low estrogen levels, shrinkage of the vaginal mucosa, and gradual shrinkage of the uterus, the difficulty and risk of surgery will be increased.

5. Check the IUD once after the first menstrual period and three months after placement. After that, the IUD should be inserted once a year to check whether it has fallen off.
