Itching near the clitoris

Usually itching around the clitoris is caused by bacterial and viral infections. If this happens, you must first get a check-up so that you can receive targeted treatment. Don't wash it together with other people's clothes.

1. Symptoms of hyperplastic vulvar leukoplakia

The main symptom in the early stage of the disease is vulvar itching. A considerable number of patients have severe itching, which worsens at night. Scratching often causes redness, swelling, ulcers, and a burning sensation. In the middle stage of development, keratinization and hyperplasia appear on the skin in the affected area, and the skin loses pigment and becomes frosty white. As the disease continues to progress, the skin's keratinization and hyperplasia become severe, the keratin layer falls off repeatedly, and edema, cracking, and erosion occur due to scratching, accompanied by pain, and the patient feels that the symptoms are severe.

2. Symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia

In the early stage of the lesion, there may be no symptoms or only mild itching. Symptoms of dyspareunia appear earlier, accompanied by tingling and itching. The vulva has mild atrophy that is invisible to the naked eye, and the local skin pigmentation fades and turns white. Sometimes the labia majora and minora turn pale white, and the vulva may become generally white, affecting the labia minora, clitoris, clitoral frenulum and anus. In the middle stage, the skin of the affected area may turn white and worsen due to excessive keratinization, and the skin may become dry, chapped, and inelastic. The labia minora become thinner, shrink and disappear, and the clitoris shrinks and becomes adhered. In the late stage, the vulva shrinks significantly or even disappears.

3. Symptoms of lichen sclerosus vulvar leukoplakia

The vulva has varying degrees of itching or severe itching, with varying degrees of hardening, whitening, cracks, and atrophy. In the early stage, the vulva will have small white rashes of varying sizes, itching and severe cracking and itching; in severe cases, white scales will fall off, the itching will intensify, the itching will be unbearable, and the patient will not be able to sleep at night. The vulva will gradually shrink, harden, and become leathery and uneven; in the late stage, it will become dry and cracked, with unbearable pain and itching. The vulva will become like old tree bark, dry and cracked, making it impossible for the patient to survive.

Among the above three types, any patient with two types combined is called a mixed type. Regardless of the type of vulvar leukoplakia, patients will have varying degrees of dry hair, gray hair, pubic hair loss, dry skin, pigmentation spots on the face or hands, early appearance of age spots, irritability, dry mouth, dry stool, insomnia, decreased libido or no libido, and in severe cases, painful and fissure intercourse.
