The benefits of spontaneous abortion

The benefits of spontaneous abortion

During pregnancy, I believe no one wants to experience miscarriage, but the factors that cause miscarriage are very complex, and some of them cannot be determined by humans. Therefore, having a miscarriage can feel like bad luck. However, miscarriage is not always a bad thing. Some miscarriages may even have benefits. So, what are the benefits of natural abortion? Let’s take a look below.

Many couples who are eager to have children always ask doctors to do their best to save the fetus when signs of threatened miscarriage appear. But from the perspective of eugenics, miscarriage is not always a "bad thing", and sometimes the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.

The factors of miscarriage are very complex, especially the fetus developed due to abnormal fertilized eggs and abnormal chromosomes, which may cause the child to have various congenital malformations or developmental defects. Therefore, spontaneous abortion is not always a frustrating thing. Pregnant women do not have to feel sorry for the miscarriage, and should not blindly and insist on asking doctors to preserve the fetus.

Many couples who are eager to have children always ask doctors to do their best to save the fetus when signs of threatened miscarriage appear. But from the perspective of eugenics, miscarriage is not always a "bad thing", and sometimes the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.

There are many reasons for miscarriage, the main ones are as follows:

1. Abnormal fertilized eggs: accounts for more than half of spontaneous abortions. Due to defects in the egg or sperm, or both, or in the early stages of pregnancy, the mother's lack of important substances such as vitamins, folic acid, hyaluronidase, etc., hinders the normal development of the fertilized egg and leads to miscarriage.

2. Endocrine disorders: Excessive estrogen and insufficient progesterone are also causes of early miscarriage. In addition, lack of thyroid hormone, which hinders the cellular oxidation process, as well as hyperthyroidism and diabetes, can all lead to miscarriage.

3. Chromosomal abnormalities: After chromosomal studies of fetuses that have undergone spontaneous abortion, it was found that they had karyotype abnormalities, and were also accompanied by structural abnormalities in the fetus or placenta.

4. Prostaglandin factors: Some people have found that amniotic fluid samples from cesarean section termination of pregnancy do not contain prostaglandin F2 or F2a; however, in the amniotic fluid samples of spontaneous abortion, the concentrations of these two prostaglandins are very high. Prostaglandin-like activity is also present in the peripheral venous blood of those with spontaneous abortion. This proves that the high frequency of uterine contractions during spontaneous abortion is caused by endogenous prostaglandins.

5. Mental factors: tension, fear and mental stimulation can cause miscarriage.

6. Placental abnormalities: Deciduitis can cause bleeding or hyperplasia of the basal decidua, dissolution of chorionic epithelial cells and decidual cells, and blockage of blood vessels in the villi, affecting the absorption and transportation of nutrients, causing the fertilized egg to separate from the attachment site, bleeding, and miscarriage. Massive placental infarction can reduce placental function, affect fetal survival, and even cause miscarriage. Placenta previa and edema and degeneration of placental villi can also cause miscarriage.

7. Blood type incompatibility: Due to previous pregnancy or blood transfusion, Rh factor and incompatible ABO blood type factor produced antibodies in the mother's body. During this pregnancy, these antibodies enter the fetus through the placenta, causing red blood cells to agglutinate and produce hemolysis, leading to miscarriage.

8. Reproductive organ diseases: Uterine malformations, such as bicornuate uterus, uterine septum, etc., are often the cause of miscarriage. Uterine fibroids, especially submucosal fibroids that develop into the uterine cavity or ovarian cysts that are incarcerated in the pelvic cavity, can affect fetal development and cause miscarriage. Relaxation of the internal os of the uterus can easily lead to habitual miscarriage.

9. Collagen-like lesions in villous stroma: can cause degeneration of villous blood vessels and lead to miscarriage.

10. The mother suffers from systemic diseases: such as acute infectious diseases, chronic diseases (severe anemia, heart disease, heart failure, chronic nephritis, severe hypertension, etc.), vitamin deficiency (especially vitamin E deficiency), and chronic poisoning such as mercury, lead, and alcohol, all of which can cause miscarriage.
