What to do if you have a bad pregnancy

What to do if you have a bad pregnancy

When both men and women do not want children, if they have sex, they will take some contraceptive measures, and the most important contraceptive measure is wearing condoms, but some older women will choose to get an IUD for contraception. The contraceptive ring mainly installs a contraceptive device inside the female uterus, but there is also a certain chance of failure. So what should a woman do if she gets pregnant after having an IUD inserted?

What to do if you are pregnant with an IUD

There are many methods for female contraception. If short-term contraception is needed, women can choose to take birth control pills or use condoms during intercourse. If long-term contraception is needed, you can consider an IUD. Moreover, most women who have just given birth will have an IUD inserted to avoid getting pregnant again within a short period of time. The effect of contraception with an IUD is not 100%, so what should I do if I get pregnant with an IUD?

If you still get pregnant after having an IUD, it will be more troublesome to deal with. Because the intrauterine contraceptive device will affect the development of the embryo while the woman is wearing the IUD, the child conceived in this case may be unhealthy. Therefore, the fetus may experience miscarriage or abnormal fetal development after pregnancy with the IUD. If women want to keep the child, they can undergo a series of fetal examinations, and if the results are normal, they can keep the child.

If women do not want the fetus, they need to have an abortion and also have the IUD removed. Therefore, it is more troublesome to handle than ordinary abortion surgery. If you miscarry after getting pregnant with an IUD, it may not be able to prevent pregnancy successfully if you put the IUD back in after your body recovers from the surgery. Most women who get pregnant with an IUD choose to have an abortion. After the operation, women must take good care of their bodies.

Are babies conceived with an IUD healthy?

Wearing an IUD is an effective measure for long-term contraception for women, but sometimes women can get pregnant while wearing an IUD. Because the contraceptive effect of the IUD is not 100%. If the intrauterine contraceptive device shifts in the uterus or the size of the contraceptive ring is not appropriate, you may still get pregnant even with the IUD. When women encounter this situation, the first thing they will consider is whether the child conceived with an IUD is healthy.

When there is an intrauterine device in a woman's uterus, the implantation of the fertilized egg formed by the combination of egg and sperm in the uterus will be affected, and the development of the placenta will also suffer from insufficient blood supply due to the IUD, so the fetus of a woman who is pregnant with the device may be underdeveloped. Therefore, from the perspective of eugenics, whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy or an ectopic pregnancy, women with an IUD will generally choose to terminate the pregnancy.

The chance of spontaneous miscarriage for a pregnancy with an IUD is very high, because the incomplete development of the fetus can easily cause miscarriage. If the fetus develops well in the early stages, there are many cases of bleeding, stillbirth, and premature birth near delivery. These are all caused by the IUD compressing the fetus. Moreover, if you choose to have a baby after the pregnancy, you cannot have an IUD removal surgery, which can easily cause miscarriage.
