Lymphatic inflammation in pregnant women affects the fetus

Lymphatic inflammation in pregnant women affects the fetus

The most obvious symptom of lymphadenitis is the appearance of swollen lymph nodes in the human body, especially those around the neck, which are the easiest to be found. However, severe lymphadenitis can turn into lymphoma, and women are more worried about lymphadenitis in their bodies, especially pregnant women, who are very afraid of adverse effects on the fetus. So what effects will lymphadenitis in pregnant women have on the fetus?

Pregnancy complicated by malignant lymphoma is not common in clinical practice, but it endangers the life safety of the mother and fetus, so it is very worrying. In the early stages of pregnancy lymphoma, there may be no obvious systemic symptoms, only lymph node enlargement, which is mostly painless and progressive. The lymph nodes are hard, adhered and fused together, especially superficial cervical, axillary and groin lymph nodes. As the disease progresses, symptoms such as chills, fever, night sweats, weight loss, fatigue, anorexia, and itching may occur. Lymph nodes are distributed throughout the body and are important immune organs of the human body. They can be divided into superficial lymph nodes and deep lymph nodes according to their location. Normal lymph nodes are mostly between 0.2 and 0.5 cm in size and are often distributed in groups. Each group of lymph nodes collects lymph from the corresponding drainage area. For example, the lymph nodes behind the ear and in the mastoid area collect lymph from the scalp; the submandibular lymph node group collects lymph from the floor of the mouth, buccal mucosa, gums, etc.; the cervical lymph nodes collect lymph from the nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea, thyroid, etc.; the supraclavicular lymph node group collects lymph from the esophagus, stomach and other organs on the left, and collects lymph from the trachea, pleura, lungs, etc. on the right; the axillary lymph node group collects lymph from the upper trunk, breast, chest wall, etc.; the inguinal lymph node group collects lymph from the lower limbs and perineum. Understanding the relationship between the two is of great clinical significance for determining the location and nature of the primary lesion.

Symptoms and signs

Investigation and research results show that the occurrence of malignant lymphoma is related to race, genes, living environment, and family tendency. Studies have shown that the occurrence of malignant lymphoma may be related to viral infection, and the incidence of malignant lymphoma increases in people with primary or secondary immunodeficiency.

The incidence of malignant tumors in women of peak childbearing age between 25 and 35 years old was 0.06%, while the incidence of malignant tumors in pregnant women was 0.07%, with no significant difference between the two groups. Lymphoma is a common malignant tumor associated with pregnancy. Lymphoma is divided into 2 types: Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Hodgkin's lymphoma mostly occurs in young people aged 20 to 40 years old. The incidence of pregnancy complicated by Hodgkin's lymphoma can reach 1/1000 to 6000. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma occurs in older people and is less common in pregnancy.

Health Tips

Since the cause of lymphoma is not yet very clear, there is no special prevention method. Try to reduce infection as much as possible, avoid exposure to radiation and other harmful substances, especially drugs that have inhibitory effects on the immune function; exercise appropriately, strengthen your physical fitness, and improve your own disease resistance.

During pregnancy. Pregnant women should pay more attention to their physical condition. During pregnancy, the mother's own nutrients are absorbed by the baby, resulting in low immunity. This has caused many friends and pregnant women to suffer from swollen lymph nodes. I hope pregnant women can take good care of their bodies during pregnancy!
