During the period of pregnancy, in the late pregnancy, pregnant women will have uterine contractions, and during this period of time, pregnant women cannot do without prenatal examinations. Generally, prenatal examinations in the late pregnancy are also called fetal monitoring. The main purpose is to monitor how the fetus grows and whether the fetus can meet the standard of delivery. When true uterine contractions occur, it means that the baby is about to be born. So how big is the fetal monitoring contraction? Frequent and regular uterine contractions are a sign of pregnancy. Although theoretically 37-42 weeks of pregnancy are considered full-term delivery, it is generally not recommended to exceed the expected date of delivery by more than one week. In addition, fetal heart monitoring can be performed once a day. Internal examination can also be performed if it has not been performed yet. Internal examination may also stimulate delivery. If there are uterine contractions on the fetal monitor, does it mean that the baby is about to be born? First of all, let me tell you that the presence of uterine contractions on the fetal monitor does not necessarily mean that the baby is about to be born. According to the frequency and intensity of the contractions, the frequency of contractions can be divided into normal or excessive. The normal frequency is less than five times every ten minutes, and the transitional frequency is an average of more than five times every ten minutes, provided that the contractions are observed for at least thirty minutes. The intensity of uterine contractions is represented by a curve on the fetal monitor. It increases as the uterus contracts and can reach 40 to 60 mmHg during the first stage of labor. It may be as high as 100 to 150 mmHg during the second stage of labor and then remain around 20 mmHg. If it is just irregular uterine contractions, and the irregular uterine contractions are called false contractions, which generally do not initiate the labor process, that is to say, they are short-lived and will not lead to delivery. If the frequency of uterine contractions increases and their regularity and intensity also increase, labor has started. At this time, the pregnant mother should be prepared, as delivery may occur within 24 hours. This is generally uncertain because each person is different. Due to different physical conditions, the timing cannot be determined. Some people will have false labor very early, while others may not feel labor until just before delivery. It is impossible to judge how long it will take to give birth based on false labor. Generally, it is necessary to have real labor, spotting, and amniotic fluid flow before the timing can be accurately determined. |
