Ten days after the IUD was inserted, I had some bleeding again

The main reason for some bleeding ten days after the IUD insertion is the infection caused by the IUD. It may also be caused by the IUD piercing the uterine mucosa due to intercourse during this period. Therefore, it is recommended that the woman should understand the reason why there is some bleeding ten days after the IUD insertion. For the symptoms of bleeding ten days after the insertion of the IUD, timely treatment should be sought to find out what the cause is and then provide treatment.

After the IUD insertion surgery, there is an adaptation period for the IUD to settle in the uterine cavity. A small amount of vaginal bleeding and lower abdominal discomfort may occur after placement, which is normal. If there is excessive bleeding, abdominal pain, fever, or abnormal leucorrhea, you should seek medical attention promptly.

Bleeding after insertion

IUD insertion is a relatively simple contraceptive method and is widely used by women of childbearing age in my country due to its long-term effectiveness. Although there are many advantages to having an IUD, there are often some adverse physical reactions after having it, such as bleeding.

Insertion of an IUD is the placement of a contraceptive ring in the uterus. Although it is only a minor operation, it is also the placement of a foreign object into the human body. Naturally, an immune rejection reaction will occur, and the body needs an adaptation process before it can return to normal. This reaction is manifested in the uterus trying to increase compression to expel the ring from the body. During this adaptation process, some people cannot feel the movement of the uterus, while others often experience bleeding.

Bleeding may occur as a small amount of vaginal bleeding, or abnormal menstrual reactions, such as shortened or prolonged menstrual periods, increased menstrual flow, etc. The main reason for these conditions is that the endometrium is compressed by the ring, and at the same time, inflammatory infiltration occurs in the cells in the uterus, leading to bleeding. This situation will generally disappear after a period of time, because as time goes by, the uterus has adapted to the presence of the ring and will naturally no longer reject it.

Bleeding after a few days is normal

Many women experience bleeding after having an IUD inserted. Although bleeding after having an IUD inserted is a normal phenomenon in many cases and there is no need to be afraid, if the bleeding lasts too long, it needs to be taken seriously. So how many days of bleeding will occur after having an IUD inserted, and how many days of bleeding is considered normal?

Generally, bleeding occurs 3-4 days after the insertion of the IUD. The causes of bleeding have been mentioned above. This bleeding condition often lasts less than a week and the amount of blood will not exceed the menstrual volume. This is the body's normal rejection reaction or wound healing process and does not require any additional treatment. However, if bleeding continues after a week, you need to go to the hospital for timely medical treatment.

At the same time, abnormal menstrual reactions may occur within three months after the IUD is inserted. For example, the menstrual interval becomes shorter or longer, the menstrual flow increases, or there is spotting. The reason for this is that the presence of the contraceptive ring causes changes in the tissue chemistry of the endometrium and local coagulation problems. Therefore, the material of the contraceptive ring is particularly important. Plastic or copper-containing contraceptive rings will increase the bleeding rate, followed by metal contraceptive rings. The lowest bleeding rate is the progesterone-containing contraceptive ring.

The duration of bleeding depends on personal constitution, but generally does not exceed 15 days.
