Two months after egg retrieval, the transplant process

In vitro fertilization has become a method of pregnancy chosen by more and more couples who are unable to have normal fertility. Before in vitro fertilization is performed, the eggs in the woman's body and the sperm in the man need to be taken out, combined together and then implanted into the woman's uterus. Since female eggs are only released once a month, the process of retrieving female eggs is very complicated. But what is the transplant process two months after successful egg retrieval?

1. Preparation of the endometrium

Egg retrieval for in vitro fertilization is guided by a vaginal ultrasound. The egg retrieval needle is passed through the vagina and directly into the ovary to absorb the eggs. The medical staff then immediately transfers the absorbed eggs to a culture dish containing embryo culture medium under a microscope and places it in an incubator at 37°C for culture. How long after egg retrieval can the transplant be performed requires a specific analysis based on the quality of the embryo and the patient's physical condition.

1. Under normal circumstances, sperm and egg combine naturally to form a fertilized egg, which is then cultured until the third day and develops into a morula, which can then be transplanted into the female uterus.

2. The embryo that has been cultured for about 5 days is called a blastocyst. Using blastocysts for transplantation will take two days longer, but the time to implantation after transplantation will also be shortened.

3. Another method is to use frozen embryo transplantation, which is also the most commonly used method of in vitro fertilization. The fresh embryos that have developed into the blastocyst stage are frozen, and after about 1 month of conditioning, the frozen embryos are transplanted after the body returns to normal, thereby increasing the success rate of in vitro fertilization.

The quality of the egg is related to the quality of the embryo, and the quality of the embryo affects the success rate of IVF. Therefore, female friends must pay more attention before egg retrieval.

In addition, you can also eat some foods that are beneficial to improving egg quality. In addition, after egg retrieval and transplantation, you need to pay more attention to rest and prevent complications so that the IVF transplantation operation can proceed smoothly.

According to the actual situation of the patient, we formulate flexible and varied diagnosis and treatment plans and provide safe, professional and caring medical services. Every step of the IVF process is guided by professionals to help patients relax and accept treatment, stay away from anxiety, and provide one-stop diagnosis and treatment services from assisted pregnancy programs to prenatal examinations and delivery.

Embryo transfer procedure.

For women with regular menstruation, the embryo can be transplanted after ovulation. Depending on the stage of the embryo when it was frozen (cleavage stage embryo or blastocyst), it is determined whether the embryo should be transplanted 3 or 5 days after ovulation.

For women with irregular menstruation, artificial cycles can be used to build the endometrium. It usually starts on the second day of menstruation (or progesterone withdrawal bleeding), with 4-6 mg of estradiol valerate taken orally daily. The condition of the endometrium is monitored after 8-10 days. When the endometrial thickness is ≥8mm, progesterone is started, and embryo transfer is performed 4-5 days later. If the blastocyst is to be transplanted, the transplantation time will be postponed.

2. Embryo thawing and transplantation

The transplantation process of thawed frozen embryos on the day of embryo transfer is the same as that of fresh embryo transfer.

3. Luteal support for frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles

For women who use artificial cycles to build their endometrium, luteal support is essential because these women do not have follicle growth or corpus luteum formation during the artificial cycle and lack their own progesterone secretion. Therefore, they must rely on exogenous progesterone to support the normal development of the endometrium and embryo implantation.
