What is the cause of vulvar soreness?

What is the cause of vulvar soreness?

Vulvar swelling is a common symptom in women. There are many reasons for this. For example, dysmenorrhea during menstruation can easily lead to such symptoms. Married women may also suffer from this condition if they have sex too frequently or use improper force. If women have some gynecological diseases, such as vulvitis, it can also cause such symptoms.

What is the cause of vulvar soreness?

1. Vulvar vestibulitis, pain in the vulva after pressure, erythema and tenderness in the vulvar vestibule area.

2. The stimulation of urine and feces. Diabetes, fecal incontinence, and diabetes can cause swelling and pain in the vulva.

3. Mechanical stimulation, such as bad hygiene habits, dirt on the vulva, tight underwear, sweat stimulation, etc., are common causes of vulvar swelling and pain.

4. Foreign objects in the vagina caused by long-term placement of a pessary or foreign objects remaining in the vagina may infect and irritate the vulva, resulting in vulvar swelling and pain.

5. Experts point out that other causes of vulvar pain include vulvar cysts or vulvar malignant tumors.

6. Annular vulvitis and intermittent vulvitis often occur during menstruation and cause irritation and pain after sexual intercourse. The vulva was erythematous and mildly desquamative.

7. Vulvar infection, such as sexually transmitted diseases, vulvitis caused by bacteria, Trichomonas, fungi, etc. This is one of the most common causes of vulvar swelling and pain.

8. Paresthesia of vulvar pain is more common in menopausal women. Persistent, non-irritated dull vulvar pain, occasionally involving the perianal area, perineum, and inner thighs. May be associated with other chronic pain. Occasionally, erythema is seen on the vulva, but most of the time there is no abnormality and no obvious tenderness.

How do women clean their vaginas?

The principle of vaginal cleanliness should be: maintain the natural defense line of the female reproductive tract, do not destroy the ecological balance in the vagina, and prevent external pathogens from entering the vagina. In general, the following points should be noted:

1. During menstruation, wash the vulva frequently with warm water and change sanitary napkins frequently to prevent blood stains from becoming a breeding ground for bacteria.

2. When cleaning, do not use highly alkaline soaps or chemicals such as potassium permanganate to avoid changing the normal acidic environment of the vagina.

3. After defecation, wipe from front to back with toilet paper, and it is best to develop the habit of washing or flushing the anus with warm water. If it is not wiped clean, fecal stains will remain at the anus and contaminate the underwear. The intestinal bacteria contained in the feces stains will take the opportunity to enter the vagina and cause inflammation.

4. Prepare your own special cleaning basin, cleaning utensils and towels. Cleaning utensils should be washed before use, and towels should be dried in the sun or in a ventilated place after use. It is best to expose them to the sun to facilitate sterilization and disinfection. Because towels are not exposed to sunlight for a long time, they are prone to breed bacteria and fungi.

5. Using warm water is enough. It is not recommended to use vaginal washes because some vaginal washes will affect the pH value of the vagina, and some vaginal washes contain chemical ingredients. The skin may be allergic to it or these ingredients may irritate the vulvar skin, which is not good. The vagina has an acidic environment and is home to many bacteria that are beneficial to us. Cleaning the vagina will affect these natural barriers.
