Implantation bleeding time

During the egg implantation period, about 1/3 of pregnant women are prone to bleeding. Generally speaking, the bleeding time will not be too long, about two or three days. The color of bleeding at this time is generally different from the normal menstrual color. Pregnant women will also feel some pain when bleeding. Don't panic too much at this time. What is implantation bleeding?

Implantation bleeding occurs when the blastocyst (the ball of cells before the embryo forms) implants into the uterine lining, causing irritation and movement of the uterine lining, so you may notice spots of blood in your shorts, and you may even experience mild cramping or soreness. This happens around 4 weeks of pregnancy, which is why many expectant mothers sometimes mistake it for menstruation.

What are the symptoms of implantation bleeding?

The color of the blood spots is not red, but brown or black because the blood is not fresh. It will be lighter than a normal menstrual cycle bleeding and should occur a week before your period. If your blood turns dark red or becomes thick, report it to your midwife or doctor right away.

How long will it last?

Bleeding should only last a day or two, but every woman is different. Occasionally, expectant mothers will experience bleeding in the first one or two months of pregnancy, so if there is a similar bleeding during implantation, a pregnancy test should be done. If bleeding is accompanied by pain or is particularly uncomfortable, you should seek medical advice.

Is this something every mother has to go through?

Not every mother experiences implantation bleeding. This only happens in one-third of pregnancies, so the absence of bleeding does not necessarily mean you are not pregnant.
