Why do I have brown discharge when I'm pregnant?

Most pregnant women are not likely to have dark brown secretions during pregnancy. If brown secretions occur during pregnancy, it is mainly considered as threatened abortion, and the factors of the fetus should also be considered. In the early stages of pregnancy, because the condition of the fetus is not very stable, brown discharge that appears at this stage generally needs to be considered as threatened abortion. For most pregnant women, the symptoms can be significantly alleviated through active fetal treatment. If the fetal maintenance effect is not good, it will lead to inevitable miscarriage, which is usually related to the poor quality of the test tube embryo itself. Brown discharge that appears in mid-pregnancy is generally related to the location of the embryo. Low-lying placenta and placenta previa are both common causes of brown discharge. Therefore, if this happens, you need to go for a B-ultrasound consultation immediately.

There are many reasons for the brown discharge in the vagina. Gynecological inflammation before the menstrual period or late menstrual period may cause this phenomenon. In addition, physiological factors, such as vaginal bleeding during ovulation or withdrawal bleeding caused by taking contraceptives, or endocrine disorders causing a small amount of uterine bleeding, but it cannot be discharged from the uterus at any time. The color change caused by tissue ischemia, and gynecological inflammation, such as cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, as well as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, etc., these factors may also cause vaginal bleeding.

Brown discharge from the vagina in women indicates old bleeding. If you have brown discharge during pregnancy, it may be due to insufficient progesterone levels or abnormal development of the baby, uterine lesions, etc., which may cause old bleeding in the uterine cavity. Pregnant women need to go to the obstetrics department of a tertiary hospital as soon as possible and undergo color ultrasound examination to confirm the diagnosis.

If it is in the early stages of pregnancy, progesterone levels and hcg gonadotropin tests are also needed to determine the exact cause of the chronic bleeding and to carry out targeted treatment. Pay attention to resting in bed as much as possible, avoid excessive exercise and strenuous work, and strictly prohibit stimulating sexual intercourse; eat light food and keep a calm mind.
