What is the cause of blood streaks in the uterus?

The uterus is a vital organ that all women possess. It directly determines a woman's physical health and is also related to her fertility. Some women often experience slight pain in the lower abdomen, and their daily leucorrhea may contain blood, which may be a problem of uterine infection and inflammation. It is necessary to go to the hospital as soon as possible to avoid further deterioration of the situation and to prevent it from affecting the woman's future reproductive ability.

If a woman experiences lower abdominal pain and bloody vaginal discharge, it may be endometritis. Endometritis is divided into acute and chronic types. The former is characterized by increased vaginal discharge, which is sometimes bloody or foul-smelling, and is accompanied by lower abdominal pain. If it is chronic, the symptoms include lower abdominal pain and lumbar distension, and of course, the basic symptoms of increased menstruation and bloody leucorrhea.

What causes endometritis?

1. Pregnancy and childbirth

Puerperal infection and septic abortion are common causes of acute endometritis. A small amount of fetal membrane or placenta remaining in the uterine cavity after delivery, or incomplete uterine involution at the site of placental attachment, can cause chronic endometritis.

2. Uterine surgery and intrauterine contraceptive device placement

Intrauterine surgical procedures, especially informal induced abortions, can lead to bacterial invasion and infection. Long-term stimulation from an intrauterine contraceptive device can cause chronic endometritis.

3. Not paying attention to personal hygiene

This disease is also likely to occur during sexual intercourse during menstruation and with the opposite sex who has a sexually transmitted disease.

4. Intrauterine lesions

Endometrial polyps, submucosal fibroids, or necrosis of endometrial cancer can cause endometrial infection.

5. Other gynecological inflammation

The ascending infection of cervicitis and vaginitis, and the downward spread of fallopian tube and ovarian inflammation can all lead to the occurrence of endometritis.

6. Low estrogen levels

After menopause or post-menopause, the estrogen level in the body decreases, the acidity in the vagina decreases, and the cervical mucus plug decreases. The body's physiological barrier function weakens, making it easier for bacteria to invade.

How to prevent endometritis?

1. Women should also pay attention to personal hygiene. Sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited during menstruation or vaginal bleeding.

2. To prevent ascending infection of bacteria after miscarriage or delivery, a comprehensive and detailed gynecological examination is required before surgery and delivery. Early detection and timely and effective treatment of acute or chronic inflammation of the reproductive tract.

3. Strengthen prenatal care and have regular check-ups during pregnancy to promptly detect various complications during pregnancy so that they can be treated in a timely manner. During pregnancy, you should increase your nutrition and vitamin intake. Pay attention to hygiene during pregnancy and take a bath and change clothes frequently. After 8 months of pregnancy, because the cervix gradually relaxes, you should not take a bath in a tub, let alone have sexual intercourse, so as to avoid infection.

4. Avoid sexual intercourse in the early and late stages of pregnancy to prevent miscarriage, premature birth, and postpartum infection, and maintain good physical condition. Pay attention to personal hygiene after abortion and delivery, change sanitary napkins in time, and use sterilized toilet paper and towels; sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited during the postpartum period, and it is best to take a shower, and bathing in a bathtub is absolutely prohibited.
