The relationship between ovulation and menstruation

If you have learned how to calculate the menstrual period, you will know that the ovulation period is calculated based on the menstrual period. The menstrual period is generally 28 days, and the ovulation period is generally about 14 days before the menstrual period. Therefore, we need to know how to calculate the ovulation period and the menstrual period. This is very helpful for us to take care of our bodies during these two special periods. I hope you can learn more about their calculation methods.

How to calculate ovulation period?

The ovulation period refers to the period before and after ovulation of a woman. Generally, the ovulation period is from 5 days before ovulation to 5 days after ovulation. Generally speaking, for women with normal menstrual cycles, their ovulation date is relatively fixed, usually about 14 days before the next menstrual period.

Calendar method: Calculate based on the menstrual cycle of the past 6 to 12 months.

The shortest cycle (number of days) - 21 days, and the period before is the pre-safe period.

The longest cycle (number of days) is 10 days, and the period after that is the post-safe period.

For example, the shortest menstrual cycle is 30 days and the longest is 38 days. Subtract 21 from the shortest menstrual cycle (30-21=9) and subtract 10 from the longest menstrual cycle (38-10=28). Therefore, the 9th to 28th day after the onset of menstruation are the ovulation period.

Observe the changes in leucorrhea: Generally speaking, the quality and quantity of leucorrhea change with the menstrual cycle. When menstruation has just ended, the leucorrhea is white, less in amount, and is paste-like; when ovulation is about to occur, the leucorrhea increases due to the secretion of the cervical glands, and becomes transparent, slightly sticky, and egg white-like, and can stretch to about 10 cm; 2 to 3 days after ovulation, the leucorrhea becomes turbid, more sticky, and less in amount.

How to calculate the menstrual cycle?

The menstrual cycle is calculated from the first day of the current menstruation to the first day of the next menstruation, which is called the menstrual cycle. The calculation of the menstrual cycle should include the time of menstruation. For example, if the first day of your most recent menstrual period is September 31st, and the first day of your previous menstrual period is September 1st, the number obtained by subtracting the two dates is 30, which means that your menstrual cycle is 30 days.

Normally, a woman's menstrual cycle is 28 to 32 days. Due to individual differences, the length of the menstrual cycle may vary from person to person. A week earlier or later can be considered normal. As long as a certain regularity can be maintained, it cannot be considered as irregular menstruation.

Based on the above introduction, we should now know how to calculate the menstrual cycle and ovulation period. If a woman's menstrual cycle is relatively regular, then the ovulation period will also be relatively normal. A woman's menstrual cycle is generally 28 to 32 days, but everyone's physique is different. Sometimes it may be shortened, sometimes it may be prolonged. As long as it is within seven days, it is normal.
