Does having your period mean you are not pregnant?

Does having your period mean you are not pregnant?

As we all know, one of the signs that a woman is pregnant is that her menstruation stops. If a woman does not have her period for several months, it is most likely due to pregnancy. But this is not completely absolute. If a woman feels that she has signs of pregnancy, she should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible. Many women think that they are safe and definitely not pregnant after they have their period. So, if you have your period, does that mean you are not pregnant?

The answer is not 100% affirmative. This may also be a "false period" - bleeding in early pregnancy, which can be difficult to distinguish. Therefore, experts recommend that if you also experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and fatigue, you should take a pregnancy test or go to the hospital for a check-up.

1. No menstruation

First of all, women who are truly pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy will not have menstruation. They will only have menstruation after giving birth to a baby.

Some friends don’t breastfeed, so they will have their period in the second month. Some friends get their period a month after feeding their baby, and some friends get their period while breastfeeding, but no matter what, you definitely won’t get your period when you’re pregnant!

2. Is amenorrhea a sign of pregnancy?

Generally speaking, young girls who have stopped menstruating are more likely to get pregnant, but it also depends on your physical condition.

For example, when I first started my period, my health was not very good. I stopped menstruating for a while and didn’t have my period for about 2 months. I was extremely anxious (Chinese girls still don’t know much about sex). Later, I felt relieved when my period came again.

In fact, it is a warning from the body, warning you that your body is not in good condition! You should pay attention to regulating your body and diet!

3. Bleeding 3 months after pregnancy

When I was pregnant for the first time, I found no fetal heartbeat after 2 months of pregnancy. Actually, I should have had an abortion at that time, but I thought it would be fine. After the third month, I started bleeding. That is not called menstruation, that is called miscarriage. I was admitted to the hospital and the doctor prescribed a missed abortion.

It was a very sad experience. I lost my first baby! Later, my colleague told me that this is called natural selection. Abort the unhealthy baby! I didn’t feel so guilty about it!

4. Bleeding after normal pregnancy

A small amount of vaginal bleeding may occur after pregnancy, which may cause panic in some inexperienced new mothers, thinking that it is another visit from their period. In fact, vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy is not true menstruation. It is also possible that there is a problem with the cervix. However, in very rare cases of pregnancy menstruation can be understood as a physiological reaction after the fertilized egg implants.

I had a little bleeding at 4 months of pregnancy with my second pregnancy, but the ultrasound showed no problems. My situation is exactly like the above one. (I had moderate cervical erosion at the time, and I guess that was the reason for the slight bleeding.) Later it returned to normal.

5. Low progesterone

If the baby is healthy but there is vaginal bleeding, you should go to the hospital to check whether the progesterone level is normal.

I have a colleague whose progesterone level was always very low. She was very careful during her pregnancy, but she still had bleeding. After that, I rested for 3 months before going back to work, and I had to take progesterone every day.

If you have vaginal bleeding, you must go to the hospital for HCG and B-ultrasound checks to rule out the possibility of ectopic pregnancy.

6. False pregnancy

Some friends also did an early pregnancy test and found a normal red line and a light pink line, so they thought they were pregnant, but they got their period 10 days later.

This is actually a false pregnancy, not a real pregnancy.
