Can I get vaccinated while I am menstruating?

Vaccines are an effective way to prevent diseases, especially some highly contagious diseases such as hepatitis B and chickenpox, which can be prevented by vaccination. Many women experience changes in hormones in their bodies during their menstruation, and think that if they get vaccinated themselves, it will affect the effectiveness of the vaccine. Can a woman get vaccinated while she is menstruating?

Any vaccine, including the hepatitis B vaccine, may be given during your period. Hepatitis B vaccine can be injected on time during menstruation without affecting the effectiveness of the vaccine. During the hepatitis B vaccine injection period, as long as there is no fever, the injection can be given on time. And one month after completing the full course of vaccination, the hepatitis B surface antibody should be rechecked. If the hepatitis B surface antibody titer reaches 10 international units/ML or above, it is a sign of successful vaccination.

HPV vaccine is a routine vaccine, so no special preparation is required and the vaccine can be administered during menstruation. But be careful not to have a fever when getting the injection, and do not plan to get pregnant within one year. And be sure you don't have a protein allergy. The doctor will confirm these matters with you again and again before vaccination.

There is no need for any examination or blood test before getting the vaccine. However, doctors recommend that even if you have been vaccinated, it is best to have a Pap smear test every year.

You can also get the influenza A vaccine during menstruation, but the prerequisite is that you do not have a cold, fever, allergies, etc., in which case you can generally get the vaccine.
