Bleeding after a few days of menstruation

Bleeding after a few days of menstruation

Many women are afraid of abnormal vaginal bleeding. Generally, women only experience bleeding during menstruation. If bleeding occurs at other times besides menstruation, it is usually a physical problem. Many women hope that their menstruation will end early, but some women find that they have bleeding in their lower body after a few days of menstruation. What is going on?

Is it normal to bleed a few days after your period?

Non-menstrual vaginal bleeding is usually caused by:

1. "Ovulation bleeding" is only a small amount of brown discharge, which usually lasts for half a day or 2-3 days, and no more than 7 days at most, and may be accompanied by slight ovulation pain and backache.

Second, functional uterine bleeding, which is usually manifested by irregular menstrual cycles, excessive menstrual flow, prolonged menstruation or irregular bleeding.

3. Vaginal bleeding may occur after taking emergency contraceptive pills. Emergency contraceptive pills can affect the menstrual cycle, especially repeated use can cause menstrual disorders, bleeding, and continuous bleeding.

4. Cervical tumor: Cervical cancer can also cause bleeding, which starts as contact bleeding and later develops into a small amount of irregular vaginal bleeding. In the late stage, the amount of bleeding increases and may even be heavy bleeding.

5. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding: occurs before and after puberty, during childbearing years, and before and after menopause. It manifests as abnormalities in the menstrual cycle and menstrual period, with bleeding that may be more or less, sometimes absent, or even continuous.

6. Vaginal tumors and vaginal wall tumors: like vaginal cancer, but generally the amount of bleeding is not much. Vaginal injury and foreign objects in the vagina can also cause bleeding. The vaginal walls of postmenopausal women are very thin, and damage from sexual intercourse can lead to bleeding.

7. Foreign bodies in the uterine cavity: such as residual fetal membranes after cesarean section, which affect the contraction and repair of the endometrium and cause bleeding. Mechanical compression of the intrauterine device can cause local damage, necrosis and superficial ulcers in the endometrium, leading to bleeding. Endometriosis and adenomyosis may also cause bleeding.

8. Uterine lesions: Acute endometritis causes congestion and edema of the endometrium. In severe cases, it may lead to excessive menstrual flow or continuous vaginal bleeding. Patients with chronic endometritis may experience increased menstrual flow or prolonged menstrual periods, or irregular vaginal bleeding. In addition, endometrial tuberculosis also causes irregular vaginal bleeding.

What is the cause of bleeding after a few days of menstruation?

1. Non-menstrual bleeding

If irregular vaginal bleeding occurs during non-menstrual period, it is a very worrying condition, especially for many unmarried and non-pregnant women. Generally speaking, bleeding a few days after menstruation may be caused by ovulation bleeding. But it may also be caused by gynecological diseases.

2. Ovulation bleeding

Ovulation bleeding occurs about 14 days before menstruation, but in most people, there is no such phenomenon as ovulation bleeding. The cause of ovulation bleeding is that the follicle ruptures and the estrogen level drops after ovulation, which cannot maintain the normal growth of the endometrium and causes endometrial breakthrough bleeding. Generally, the amount of bleeding is small and no treatment is needed. If the amount of bleeding is heavy, you should go to the hospital for examination.

3. Postmenstrual bleeding

In another case, bleeding a few days after menstruation may be caused by uterine fibroids. If post-menstrual bleeding lasts for a long time and is accompanied by symptoms such as abdominal pain, it is likely a symptom of uterine fibroids. Uterine fibroids endanger women's health. If not treated in time, it can easily lead to excessive bleeding a few days after menstruation and cause anemia. Uterine fibroids can be treated, and there are many ways to treat them, but specific problems need to be treated specifically. It may also be caused by irregular menstruation or gynecological diseases. Menstrual irregularities are mainly manifested as irregular menstrual cycles or bleeding volume, and irregular uterine bleeding. Gynecological diseases such as cervical erosion, cervical polyps, vaginal inflammation, etc. may also cause bleeding a few days after non-menstrual period.
