How to check for two cancers

Have you heard of the two cancer screenings often? Although you often hear about it, you definitely don’t know what it actually is. What does this one or two cancer screening mean? What are the key points to screen? What tests should be done? With these questions, let's take a look together!

The practical significance of screening for two cancers

The two cancers refer to: cervical cancer and breast cancer. Cancer screening refers to the use of advanced testing methods to determine whether the person is suffering from cancer or common gynecological diseases.

The purpose of screening for the two cancers is to eliminate these two cancers that harm women’s reproductive health as quickly as possible. Ensure early diagnosis, early detection, early prevention and early treatment.

The characteristics of the two cancer screening: It is a charitable activity that cares for women's physical and mental health. The publicity and education of government agencies in our country is gradually increasing, and the public's awareness of women's reproductive health is also gradually improving.

Breast cancer

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in women. According to statistical analysis, the incidence rate accounts for 7-10% of all malignant tumors in the body. Its onset is often related to genetic inheritance, and the incidence rate is higher in women between 40 and 60 years old and around menopause. Only about 1-2% of breast cancer patients are men.

A malignant tumor that usually occurs in the glandular epithelial tissue of the breast. It is one of the most common malignant tumors that seriously affects women's health and even seriously endangers their lives. Male breast cancer is rare.

The key symptoms are: breast lumps, breast pain, nipple discharge, nipple changes, skin changes, and swollen axillary lymph nodes.

As long as more women can have a strong anti-cancer awareness, fully understand and master this knowledge, and do a good job of personal examination, along with the improvement of health care standards, they will firmly believe that cancer is not a terminal illness.

Cervical cancer

Cervical cancer is one of the common gynecological malignant tumors.

The incidence of cervical cancer ranks second only to breast cancer among female urinary system tumors.

There are approximately 131,500 new cases of cervical cancer in my country each year, accounting for 28.8% of the new cases of cervical cancer in the world; approximately 290,000 women die from cervical cancer each year in the world, including approximately 50,000 in my country. The incidence rate is higher in rural areas than in cities, and the peak age of onset is 40-70 years old. Along with the increase in the prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases, the prevalence of cervical cancer in young women has an upward trend, with an annual growth rate of 2%-3%.

In my country, the incidence and mortality rates of cervical cancer are gradually increasing, and are significantly tending to be younger; it is more concentrated in the 36 to 50 age group, accounting for about 57% of the total number of cases, especially in women aged 41 to 47.

In the 1970s, cervical cancer accounted for only 0.5% of young women under 30 years old. However, after the 1990s, the proportion of cervical cancer in young women over 30 years old rose to 15%-20%.

Cervical cancer is relatively hidden and difficult to detect in the first place. Because the physiological and anatomical location of the cervix is deep, when lesions occur, patients are usually unable to detect them through personal examinations, resulting in many cervical cancer patients not showing symptoms until the late stages of the disease, causing the spread of cancer tissue.

Therefore, in order to detect cervical cancer in the early stage, it is necessary to rely on the assistance of medical staff and conduct gynecological investigations in order to enhance the safety awareness of cervical cancer among many women in Beijing.

To ensure early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment of cervical cancer, cervical fluid cytology (TCT) is a relatively good diagnosis method.

Cervical cancer priority targets

1. People infected with human papillomavirus (HPV)

2. Multiple sexual partners

3. Early marriage and multiple children

4. Old age

5. Patients with cervical intestinal metaplasia

6. People who take birth control pills and smoke are also at high risk of cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer screening mainly includes: routine gynecological examination, vaginal/cervical secretion examination, cervical cytology test or glacial acetic acid staining test (VIA)/thorn seed iodine staining test (VILI).

Patients with positive or abnormal results of cervical pap smear test or cervical acetic acid stain test/thorn seed iodine stain test need further colposcopy.

Abnormal or positive colposcopy results require further histopathological and physiological confirmation.

Breast cancer screening mainly includes: All women undergoing examination undergo breast inspection and palpation.

Breast ultrasound examination will be carried out for abnormal and key subjects, and molybdenum target X-ray examination will be carried out for those with abnormal or positive ultrasound examination.

The two cancer screenings mainly screen for breast cancer and cervical cancer. These two malignant diseases are common diseases in women. This screening is mainly to remind women to prevent these diseases and ensure early detection and early treatment. As long as female friends have a strong anti-cancer awareness, cancer is by no means a terminal illness.
