Cervical cyst, also known as "cervical gland storage cyst", also known as "Najalian cyst", "Najalian gland cyst", or commonly known as "Naja cyst", is a type of cervicitis. It usually occurs during the recovery process of cervicitis. The secretions in the cervical gland ducts are blocked by excessive proliferation of neonatal squamous epithelium, forming cystic masses in the cervical glands. They are usually small and scattered, protruding on the surface of the cervix. Light yellow transparent fluid is stored in the glandular ducts to form cysts of varying sizes. There may be no clinical symptoms, but as the inflammation develops there may be more vaginal discharge, with or without an odor. Traditional Chinese medicine calls the symptomatic condition "leucorrhea." Most patients with cervical cysts have no clinical manifestations and are discovered accidentally during physical examinations and do not require special treatment. If the glandular duct cyst is very swollen and accompanied by excessive vaginal discharge and other discomforts, timely treatment is required. Causes of cervical cysts 1. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the main cause of leucorrhea is the malnutrition of the belt meridian caused by liver qi stagnation, cold and dampness, spleen deficiency, etc., which is then triggered by vibration. 2. Western medicine believes that because the cervix is infected with various pathogens, inflammation and changes occur. During the inflammation and recovery process, the secretions in the cervical gland ducts are blocked by excessive proliferation of neonatal squamous epithelium, forming cystic masses in the cervical glands. Clinical symptoms of cervical cysts Cervical glandular cysts are manifested as several yellow-white vesicles protruding from the surface of the cervix and containing colorless jelly-like substances. In case of secondary infection, the vesicles are mostly milky white or light yellow in appearance. The mucus contained in it is often clear and transparent, but it may be turbid and purulent due to combined infection. The cysts are usually small and scattered and may be visible on the surface of the cervix. Some cervical cysts may appear very large, protruding from the surface of the cervix and even reaching the vulva. The root is connected to the cervix by a pedicle, and is often combined with cervical hypertrophy. During the examination, you can see that there are several yellow-white vesicles of different sizes protruding from the surface of the cervix. They contain mucus, and the small ones are as big as millet grains and the large ones are as big as corn. Cervical cysts are a type of chronic disease of cervicitis. Most of the time, there are no obvious symptoms. However, the specific manifestation of cervicitis when it occurs is excessive vaginal discharge. Due to different pathogens, the color, amount, and characteristics of the vaginal discharge are also different. The discharge may be thick and purulent, and may contain blood or a small amount of blood in rare cases, and irregular bleeding may occur in rare cases. If secondary pelvic inflammatory disease occurs, lower abdominal or lumbar pain, or menstrual pain may occur. |
