Why is my vagina itchy?

The structure of the female vagina is relatively unique, making it vulnerable to invasion by foreign bacteria and viruses. 1. Local causes

4. Bad hygiene habits : not paying attention to the local cleaning of the vulva, sebum, sweat, menstruation, vaginal secretions, and even urine and feces soaking, long-term stimulation of the vulva can cause itching: using rubber or plastic menstrual belts during menstruation, and wearing non-breathable chemical fiber underwear at other times can induce itching due to the accumulation of damp heat. 5. Other skin lesions , abrasions, common warts, herpes, eczema, and tumors can all cause vulvar itching.

6. Sexual allergy : This is an allergic reaction that occurs during sexual intercourse. They are allergy to semen, condom allergy, and friction allergy.

2. Systemic causes

1. Diabetes: Due to the irritation of diabetes to the vulvar skin, especially when accompanied by fungal vulvitis, vulvar itching is particularly severe. Many patients first seek medical attention due to itching and redness of the vulva, and are diagnosed with diabetes only after further examination.

2. When patients with chronic diseases such as jaundice , vitamin A, B deficiency, leukemia, etc. experience vulvar itching, it is often part of systemic itching.

3. Vulvar congestion during pregnancy and premenstrual period may occasionally cause vulvar itching and discomfort.

4. Unexplained vulvar itching : Some patients have very severe vulvar itching, but no obvious systemic or local cause can be found. Some people believe that it may be related to mental or psychological factors.
