What to do if there is inflammation before IUD insertion

For some female friends who do not want to get pregnant, IUD is an effective contraceptive measure. However, many women become very worried when they hear that some abnormalities may occur in their bodies after having an IUD inserted. Because if I want to get pregnant again in the future, I am worried that having an IUD inserted will have a certain impact. In particular, some friends who had inflammation in their bodies before having an IUD inserted will be even more worried about harming their bodies. So, what should I do if there is inflammation before IUD insertion?

What to do if there is inflammation after IUD insertion

Because the uterus is in an open state after delivery, it is more prone to inflammation. If you get inflammation, it is recommended to go to a public hospital for treatment. Generally, those with mild vaginitis do not need to remove the IUD. Only when there is a problem with the cervix should the presence of the IUD be taken seriously. Some mothers even have irregular menstruation after the IUD is inserted.

"IUD" is the most commonly used long-term contraceptive measure for women of childbearing age in my country. Often an IUD can be left in the body for more than ten years. IUD insertion itself is a minor operation, placing a foreign object in the uterine cavity, and it takes some time for the body to adapt.

The scientific name of the "ring" is intrauterine device, abbreviated as IUD. It is placed in the uterine cavity of women of childbearing age, and achieves the purpose of abortion and contraception through mechanical stimulation and interference of chemical substances. It does not inhibit ovulation and does not affect the female endocrine system, thus avoiding the adverse reactions of general drug contraceptives. After years of practical improvement, most of the IUDs currently used in clinical practice are copper-containing or drug-containing IUDs. The stent materials are plastic, polyethylene, memory alloy, etc., and the shapes are not single, including round, T-shaped, V-shaped, Y-shaped and chain-shaped. IUDs made of different materials and in different shapes have their own characteristics, and therefore can be suitable for women with different physiques and needs.

What are the types of intrauterine devices?

The mechanism of human pregnancy is that the female ovary releases an egg, the egg is fertilized in the ampulla of the fallopian tube, and then develops into an embryo (morula) in the fallopian tube. The embryo is then released into the uterus to implant and grow. Contraception is about blocking any of these steps.

Inert intrauterine contraceptive device: made of stainless steel wire or plastic, silicone, such as metal single ring, twisted ring and stainless steel uterine ring.

Copper intrauterine device: It is the most widely used type of active intrauterine device, which uses the killing effect of copper on sperm or fertilized eggs to enhance the contraceptive effect.

Progestin-releasing intrauterine device: The progestin contained in the intrauterine device is slowly and steadily released into the uterine cavity, which improves the contraceptive effect and can significantly reduce bleeding.

Intrauterine devices that release hemostatic drugs: can effectively control the increase in menstrual volume after intrauterine device placement.

The foreign body effect of the intrauterine contraceptive device can cause asexual inflammation of the endometrium, thereby affecting the implantation of the fertilized egg. In addition to the above functions, the washable intrauterine contraceptive device also releases copper ions, which have a killing effect on sperm and embryos.

The intrauterine device containing progestin can release a small amount of progestin into the uterine cavity for a long time, causing the endometrium to atrophy, which is not conducive to the implantation of the fertilized egg. Both of these effects further enhance the contraceptive effect of the active intrauterine device.
