Bleeding after cesarean section

Bleeding after cesarean section

Many pregnant women do not exercise much when they are pregnant. They just eat, drink and sleep every day. Therefore, this may cause the baby to grow too large or be in the wrong position in the pregnant woman's belly, which may lead to the pregnant woman being unable to give birth naturally. In this case, a caesarean section is needed to ensure the smooth birth of the baby. Some women experience vaginal bleeding after having sex with men after a caesarean section. Let’s find out what to do if you bleed during sex after a cesarean section?

1. Cervical dysplasia . This is a manifestation of cervical epithelial cell carcinoma. Women who have multiple partners, have sexual intercourse before the age of 18, become pregnant before the age of 16, or have a history of sexually transmitted diseases may increase the possibility of abnormal cervical development. It is usually treated by performing cryosurgery.

2. Chlamydia infection : Chlamydia infection is mainly caused by sexual intercourse and is transmitted through sperm, vaginal fluid or blood.

3. Suffering from gynecological inflammation. Women suffer from vaginitis or cervicitis, inflammation caused by tumors or viral infections. Treatment depends on the cause.

4. Cervical polyps . The cervix may develop cervical polyps due to inflammation. Single or multiple small pedunculated granulation tissues grow at the cervical opening, looking like bean buds, and the larger ones are as big as a finger. Polyps are fragile and tender, and will bleed if touched, so bleeding may occur after sexual intercourse. This bleeding is usually bright red.

5. Endometriosis . Endometriosis appears as bluish purple nodules. If this blue-purple ectopic nodule is touched during sexual intercourse, it will cause bleeding. The amount of bleeding is generally small and dark red, and abdominal pain often occurs after intercourse.

6. Cervical cancer. Bleeding after sexual intercourse is the earliest symptom of cervical cancer. Because there are more small blood vessels and more fragile tissues in the cancer lesions, the capillaries will rupture and bleed due to damage after each sexual intercourse. If the cancer grows further, it will bleed more easily.

It can be seen that bleeding during intercourse after a cesarean section may be due to a physical disorder. Don’t simply think that it is menstruation after the cesarean section.

How long after a caesarean section can you have sex? It is better to have sex later rather than earlier after a caesarean section

For normal delivery, the general confinement period, that is, the postpartum period, is 42 days. This period is the repair period of the endometrium. After the postpartum period, if there is no abnormality in the mother's body, theoretically, she can have sex. As for how long you can wait after a cesarean section before having sex, medical research suggests that it is best to wait three months after a cesarean section. This is because cesarean sections leave surgical wounds, and the wounds naturally take more time to heal. Having sex must be done after the cesarean section wounds have healed (nursing methods for pain after cesarean section wounds).

Some people believe that as long as the lochia of a woman is clean after giving birth, the couple can have sex. In fact, this view is wrong. The duration of lochia is generally 2 to 4 weeks. After that, although the lochia has cleared, the wound in the uterus has not completely healed, the physical exertion during delivery has not recovered, and the body's resistance to disease is poor. If you have sex too early, it can easily lead to infection, vaginitis, endometritis, salpingitis or menstrual disorders.

A large amount of evidence has proved that women generally experience low sexual desire within two months after giving birth, which is normal. If you have sex, it often cannot achieve harmony, and it may cause women to become frigid, affecting the relationship between the couple in the future. Generally speaking, it takes 6 to 8 weeks for the reproductive organs and other systems to recover after childbirth, and a woman's interest in sexual intercourse after childbirth does not increase significantly until the third month. Therefore, even if a woman who has undergone a caesarean section has recovered smoothly after delivery, it is best to wait three months before having sex again.
