The degree of our physical health can often be determined by drawing blood for testing. Especially when we go to the hospital for a check-up, the doctor will also ask for a blood test. Based on the results of the blood test, the doctor will be more accurate in judging the patient's condition. Although having blood drawn is a very normal thing, there are some things you need to pay attention to before and after the blood draw. For some special examinations, you need to do a lot of preparation before the blood draw. Will blood draw affect menstruation? 1. First of all , it depends on how many milliliters of blood you draw? If it is just a small amount of blood test, it will not affect the body. However, menstruation is a special physiological characteristic of girls. Therefore, you should try to avoid symptoms such as excessive fatigue, cold body, mental tension, and nerve pain during menstruation. In severe cases, it can cause amenorrhea. 2. If you want to donate blood, do not donate during menstruation. When I donated blood before, I was given a booklet which stated that women were not allowed to donate blood during menstruation or when they had a cold, etc. It is good for others and even better for yourself. Whether a person donates blood or has heavy bleeding, their resistance will be weakened, and it is undoubtedly adding insult to injury when it is the menstrual period. If you really want to donate blood, don't rush it. Things to note after blood draw 1. After drawing blood , immediately press the puncture site with a sterilized dry cotton pad (sterilized wet cotton pads are easy to irritate the puncture point and cause pain, and are not easy to stop bleeding). Apply local pressure for 3-5 minutes on the needle hole and the area two centimeters above the needle insertion point to stop bleeding. Do not rub it to avoid causing subcutaneous hematoma. After that, you should try to keep the arm where the blood was drawn clean for 24 hours and avoid taking a shower or sauna. 2. The pressing time after blood drawing should be sufficient . The clotting time varies from person to person, and some people need a little longer to clot. Therefore, if you stop applying pressure immediately when the surface of the skin seems to be not bleeding, the bleeding may not stop completely, and the blood may seep into the subcutaneous layer, causing bruises. Therefore, pressing for a longer time can completely stop the bleeding. If there is a tendency of bleeding, the pressing time should be prolonged. If local bruising occurs, apply a warm towel for wet compress after 24 hours to promote absorption. 3. Rest for 15 minutes after blood collection. It is best not to move during these 15 minutes, sit quietly or lie down to rest. If you experience symptoms of needle phobia such as dizziness, blurred vision, fatigue, etc., you should lie down immediately and drink a small amount of sugar water. Wait until the symptoms are relieved before having a physical examination. |
