Many women will find that they have a pimple on their private parts. In fact, this situation is most likely caused by two diseases: vulvitis and genital warts. Generally speaking, you can go to the hospital for examination to determine what disease you have. At the same time, in daily life, you should also pay attention to your private hygiene, change your underwear frequently, and seek medical attention in time if you find any abnormalities. Bumps on the female vulva may be caused by vulvitis and genital warts. The initial lesions of genital warts are small, soft, light red papules, the size of a needle cap or a grain of rice, which gradually increase in size and number, becoming papilloma-like, cauliflower-like, cockscomb-like or mushroom-like growths with an uneven surface and a soft texture. If not treated in time, the warts will gradually increase in size. Some may become large cauliflower-like with a pedicle at the base; some may fuse together to become large lumps, light gray in color, with a papilloma-like surface. Regardless of whether it is vulvitis or genital warts, you should go to a local regular hospital in time to choose scientific methods for timely treatment to avoid worsening of the disease. In daily life, you should pay more attention to local hygiene, take a bath and change clothes frequently, do not smoke, do not drink alcohol, do not eat spicy or cold food, and develop good living habits. Vulvitis is an inflammation of the vulva caused by invasion of pathogens or various adverse stimuli. It can exist independently, but is more often complicated by vaginitis, urinary tract diseases, anorectal diseases or systemic diseases, or is one of the manifestations in the pathological process of certain vulvar diseases. The clinical manifestations are itching, pain, burning sensation and even swelling, rash, erosion and ulcers of the vulvar skin. Clinical manifestations The vulvar skin may experience itching, pain, burning sensation, and even swelling, rashes, erosions, and ulcers. If the disease lasts for a long time, the skin may become thickened, rough, cracked, and even become lichenified. Common types of vulvitis include: 1. Nonspecific vulvitis Most of them are mixed infections of Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Escherichia coli. 2. Fungal vulvitis It often exists simultaneously with candidal vaginitis, and bean curd-like secretions can be seen, and the surface of the lesions is sometimes covered with white moss-like substances. 3. Vulvitis in infants and young children The vulvar skin and mucous membranes become red, itchy and painful, which can lead to labia adhesion. 4. Bartholinitis The labia majora on one side becomes red, swollen, hot and painful, and a lump forms in the lower 1/3 of the labia majora, which is fluctuating and tender, indicating a Bartholin's gland abscess. Abscesses sometimes burst on their own. 5. Sexually Transmitted Diseases Genital warts, chancroid, genital herpes, gonorrhea, etc. Genital warts are a sexually transmitted disease caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, with proliferative lesions in the anal and genital area as the main manifestation. Most cases occur in young and middle-aged people aged 18 to 50. The disease occurs after an incubation period of about half a month to eight months, with an average of three months. This disease is relatively common and is mainly transmitted through sexual contact. Clinical manifestations The incubation period is 1 to 8 months, with an average of 3 months, and it mainly occurs in sexually active people. 1. Typical genital warts The genitals and perianal area are the most common sites. In men, it is more common in the foreskin, frenulum, coronal sulcus, glans penis, urethral orifice, penis shaft, perianal area, rectum and scrotum. In women, it is more common in the labia majora and minora, posterior symphysis, vestibule, clitoris, cervix and perianal area. It can occasionally be seen in areas other than the genitals and perianal area, such as the armpits, umbilicus, mouth, breasts, and between the toes. Female vaginitis and male foreskin are factors that promote the occurrence of genital warts. The lesions initially appear as small, light red papules, which gradually increase in size and number, and are distributed singly or in clusters. They are moist and soft, with an uneven surface and appear as nipple-like, cockscomb-like, or cauliflower-like protrusions. Red or dirty grey. The roots often have pedicles and are prone to erosion and exudation, and bleed easily when touched. Purulent secretions often accumulate between the cracks of the skin lesions, causing a foul odor, and secondary infection may occur due to scratching. This disease often has no subjective symptoms, and some patients may experience foreign body sensation, pain, itching or pain during sexual intercourse. Genital warts in the rectum may cause pain, blood in the stool, and a feeling of tenesmus. 2. HPV subclinical infection HPV infection is clinically not recognizable to the naked eye, but evidence of HPV infection can be found by acetic acid whitening test (local whitening after smearing or wet compressing with 5% acetic acid solution), tissue pathology or nucleic acid detection technology. 3. Relationship with tumors A large amount of epidemiological data shows that HPV infection (mainly high-risk HPV, such as HPV-16 and HPV-18) is closely related to the occurrence of genital cancers, such as cervical cancer and penile cancer. The prognosis is generally good after treatment. However, no matter which treatment method is used, recurrence is possible. |
