Doctors believe that the high incidence of diseases such as endometritis, salpingitis, endometriosis and even infertility in women is closely related to unclean sexual life during menstruation. We all know that normal female genitals have multiple defense barriers:

The first one is in the vagina. There are lactobacilli here, which can produce lactic acid and maintain the acidic environment of the vagina, making it difficult for invading pathogens to gain a foothold and reproduce. The second line of defense is the cervix. There is a mucus plug here, which acts like a cork, preventing pathogens from entering the uterine cavity.

The third line of defense is the endometrium of the uterine cavity, which has many wrinkles that prevent bacteria from entering the fallopian tubes. During menstruation, the endometrium peels off and the adhered bacteria are also "flushed out" of the uterine cavity.

The above three lines of defense will be temporarily withdrawn during the menstrual period. After the endometrium is peeled off, not only is a huge wound left behind, but the mucus plug in the cervix is replaced by menstrual blood flow. At the same time, the acidic environment of the vagina is also replaced by the neutral menstrual blood. This is when women's resistance is weakest.

Therefore, if a couple has sex during menstruation, the pathogenic bacteria brought to the vagina by the penis will multiply in large numbers. These pathogenic "group" bacteria then swarm upward, pass through the cervix, enter the uterine cavity, and gather on the wound surface of the uterine cavity. These pathogens either adhere to the surface of sperm and enter the fallopian tube, or are "sucked" into the fallopian tube due to the negative pressure created during sexual intercourse, which can cause salpingitis, causing it to swell, necrotize, and fester, forming scar adhesions, and the fallopian tube cavity, which is only as thick as a cotton thread, is blocked.

The serious consequence that follows is that once the fallopian tube is blocked, sperm cannot pass through the blocked area, and the egg waiting there cannot be fertilized, thus causing infertility. Sometimes the fallopian tube obstruction is mild, and the sperm can squeeze through the slit to reach the outer section of the fallopian tube to fertilize the egg. However, the fertilized egg, which is more than ten times larger than the sperm, cannot pass through the slit and enter the uterine cavity, so it can only be implanted in the fallopian tube, which causes an ectopic pregnancy.

Therefore, doctors recommend that young male friends should restrain their impulses during their female partner's menstrual period. This is also a concrete manifestation of respecting and caring for her, so that they can calmly enjoy a healthy sex life and stay away from the troubles of diseases.
