Brown discharge during early pregnancy

Brown discharge during early pregnancy

After pregnancy, all kinds of preventive measures should be taken both physically and mentally. Only in this way can we avoid emergencies. Don't worry if there is brown secretion in the early pregnancy stage. It is a physiological phenomenon if there is only a few spots of secretion and no abdominal pain or severe symptoms. Just do regular pregnancy check-ups and pay attention to preserving the fetus. If there has been miscarriage or other signs before, an examination is needed to confirm the diagnosis.

Expectant mothers should pay attention to the three colors of vaginal secretions.

The amount of secretion will increase significantly after pregnancy. Normal secretion should be colorless and odorless. When the secretion appears in other colors and is accompanied by a strange smell, it is a warning sign of physical abnormality. Experts say that hormone secretion will change with pregnancy. The increase in estrogen further stimulates the proliferation of vaginal and cervical glands; and in order to allow the placenta to grow stably, other female hormones will also increase significantly. These two are the main factors that cause increased secretions.

The discharge gradually increases after pregnancy

Changes in secretions during pregnancy are mainly due to hyperplasia of vaginal and cervical glands. In addition, the vaginal wall mucosa also produces secretions. Experts say that increased secretions will continue from the beginning of pregnancy until the late stages of pregnancy.

When the birth is approaching, some mothers will confuse secretions with broken water, because high-level broken water is a dot-like outflow, which is similar to secretions, and it is difficult for mothers to judge by themselves at home. Dr. Lai Zongxuan said that the biggest difference between vaginal secretions and amniotic fluid is the acidity and alkalinity. Vaginal secretions are acidic and amniotic fluid is alkaline. If tested with a test paper, the secretions will remain yellow, and the amniotic fluid will turn the test paper blue. However, Dr. Lai Zongxuan still does not recommend pregnant women to test themselves at home. In the late pregnancy, if you are not sure whether it is secretions or broken water, you should seek medical attention directly, because sometimes when pregnant women test themselves, they will be contaminated with vaginal secretions and affect the judgment.

Take control of your health and observe the color and smell of your secretions

Gynecologists say that secretions are composed of water, protein, glycoprotein, glandular secretions, and other benign vaginal bacteria and metabolites. Normal secretions are transparent, slightly sticky, but odorless. Secretions increase after pregnancy, but there is little difference between the early and middle stages of pregnancy and before pregnancy. The amount in the late pregnancy is similar to the usual ovulation period, or even more. When the amount of secretions is abnormal and combined with abnormal color and odor, you should trace the source of the abnormality to protect your health!

If the secretion increases significantly in the early stages of pregnancy, it means that you may be infected. However, in addition to the "quantity" to determine whether you are infected, the easiest way to distinguish is the "color" and "smell" of the secretions. By observing these key points, you can understand the health of yourself and the fetus.

Yellow, sticky vaginal discharge

If an expectant mother finds that her leucorrhea is yellow and sticky, it may be due to infection with Candida albicans. Candida albicans exists in the vagina. Under normal circumstances, Candida albicans and good bacteria will maintain a balance. Once the resistance is reduced or overworked, the number of Candida albicans will increase, leading to infection. Candida albicans infection will cause discomfort to pregnant women, but will not affect the fetus.

Gynecologists say that Candida albicans is a type of fungus and a common vaginal infection during pregnancy. When infected with Candida albicans, the secretions will be yellow and sticky, similar to cheese, and symptoms such as itching in the perineum and redness of the vagina will appear. Even if cured, the chance of recurrence is still high, especially during pregnancy when the body's resistance is low.
