Pelvic cystic mass usually refers to what is medically called pelvic cyst, which is a common benign gynecological tumor that occurs frequently in middle-aged women. Although pelvic cysts are benign tumors, they can reduce the chances of pregnancy for women of childbearing age, and can also cause abdominal pain, bloating, etc. Therefore, for gynecological diseases such as pelvic cystic masses, early detection and early treatment are necessary. Let’s learn about the causes and treatments of pelvic cystic masses. 1. Causes of pelvic cyst disease For pelvic cysts, this is a pseudo-disease manifestation. In our clinical practice, it is also called peritoneal inclusion cyst, mesothelial cyst, etc. They only have certain differences in pathology. Pelvic cysts are mostly caused by repeated pelvic inflammatory infections. Due to long-term inflammatory stimulation, the tissues around the pelvic organs thicken and adhere, and anti-inflammatory drugs are not easily effective. Therefore, the disease is stubborn and recurs repeatedly, causing the patient's physical condition to weaken and recovery to be slow. The cyst is formed due to severe adhesions formed after pelvic surgery or inflammatory injury. The exuded cellulose-organized adhesions wrap around the secretory tissues of the fallopian tubes and ovaries, causing the secretions and exudates produced by them to gradually accumulate in the adhesion gaps and expand into a single cyst cavity. For those with a history of peritonitis and lower abdominal surgery in childhood, the extensive adhesions that occur in their early years are the basis for later infertility or the formation of giant cysts. The walls of these cysts are mainly composed of fibrous connective tissue, which has no absorption function, and no epithelial lining is found in pathological examination of the cyst walls. 2. Pathology of pelvic cyst disease As for pelvic cysts, adhesive cysts are the most common among gynecological diseases. However, there has not been a detailed description and discussion in previous literature and materials, and it is difficult to make a diagnosis before surgery. The clinical manifestations and B-ultrasound images of this cyst are very similar to ovarian tumors. Clinically, it is often diagnosed as an ovarian tumor and laparotomy is performed. Some inexperienced doctors often use simple cyst wall stripping and cyst cavity closure, which is the main cause of postoperative recurrence. 3. Traditional Chinese medicine divides pelvic cysts into three types clinically (1) Qi stasis transforming into heat type Severe abdominal pain, bloating and nausea, smooth surface, no ascites, cystic fever, chills, depression, weakness and fatigue, increased vaginal discharge, thick and fishy texture. The common characteristics of various types are that ovarian cysts are mostly unilateral, with intact capsules, mobility, smooth cyst walls, uniform morphology, slow progression, and a long course of disease. (2) Cold-damp stasis type There is a mass in the abdomen. Edema of the lower limbs, fluid accumulation in the abdomen and chest, and poor appetite. (3) Qi stagnation and blood stasis type It manifests as a lump on one or both sides of the lower abdomen. Small lumps usually have no obvious symptoms, while large lumps may cause palpitations, shortness of breath, back pain, lower abdominal pain, constipation, frequent and urgent urination, and petechiae on the tongue. It should be pointed out that unmarried women with pelvic cysts should consider the possibility of uterine malformation, ovarian tumors or tuberculous pelvic inflammatory mass; those with a history of surgery and the presence of pelvic masses should consider the possibility of hematoma, inflammation or foreign body residue; those with a history of pelvic surgery often have postoperative adhesion masses or chronic adnexitis masses; those with a history of gastrointestinal cancer and the presence of pelvic masses, especially bilateral masses, should consider metastatic ovarian cancer. Those who use intrauterine devices for contraception or have a history of secondary infertility may also have inflammation; those with a history of recurrent miscarriage and pelvic masses should consider the possibility of uterine malformation or myoma. In life, many people will feel fever, usually above 39 degrees, and have lower abdominal pain. During examination, it will be found that it is caused by pelvic abscess. Everyone needs to pay attention to the existence of this disease, pay attention to the occurrence of pelvic abscess, and treat it reasonably. So, what are the traditional Chinese medicine treatments for pelvic abscess? 4.
