Does ovulation cause abdominal pain?

Does ovulation cause abdominal pain?

Many young girls will experience abdominal pain before menstruation. The symptoms vary from person to person. Some people will experience dull pain in the abdomen, while others will experience a feeling of falling. Generally speaking, this is relatively normal and is abdominal pain during ovulation. Why does the abdomen hurt during ovulation? This is because the egg gradually grows and develops, and the follicle will be discharged from the body, which will cause certain trauma and thus cause pain. This is a relatively normal phenomenon, so don't worry too much. During this period, you should pay attention to dietary health, avoid eating raw, cold or irritating foods, and also pay attention to keeping your abdomen warm and avoid catching cold.

1. Your stomach may hurt during ovulation

To understand this problem, you need to know what ovulation is. Ovulation is the process of an egg being released from the follicle. In the ovary, the egg gradually grows and develops under the regulation of hormones. After reaching a certain stage of development, the follicle ruptures and the egg is discharged from the body along with the follicular fluid, corona radiata, and follicular cells. Of course, the rupture of the follicle means trauma and may cause pain, but some people don’t feel anything during ovulation. In fact, the pain caused by the rupture of the follicle is very small. Some people are too sensitive to pain, and a little stimulation will cause pain, so they will feel it. Similarly, the part that doesn't feel anything is not very sensitive to this kind of pain.

2. Ovulation pain is normal

The pain caused by the rupture of the follicle due to ovulation is a normal physiological phenomenon. Will my stomach hurt during ovulation? Some people experience local ovarian bleeding due to the rupture of an ovarian follicle that is too large during ovulation. The pain is too severe and they should consider seeing a doctor. But don't worry, ovulation pain will not cause infertility. As long as you pay attention to rest, don't do too strenuous exercise, and don't eat too stimulating food, the pain will not persist. It will only hurt for a while and then disappear immediately.

3. How long does the ovulation period last?

During the ovulation period, due to the rupture of the follicular membrane and ovarian capsule, the follicular fluid stimulates the nearby peritoneum, causing abdominal pain in some sensitive people. This phenomenon is generally mild and will occur once a month if ovulation is normal.

The ovaries of women of normal childbearing age release only one egg per month. It takes about 14 days for the primordial follicle to develop into maturity, form a mature follicle and ovulate, during which time it undergoes a series of complex physiological and biochemical reactions. In this process, special cells in the follicle secrete androgens and estrogens. Estrogens regulate the cyclical changes of the endometrium, thus forming the menstrual cycle.

The egg can survive for 1-2 days after being released, and the sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for 2-3 days. The fertilization ability is mostly within 24 hours after ovulation. After 2-3 days, the sperm loses the ability to combine with the egg. Therefore, if you have sex 2-3 days before ovulation and 1-2 days after ovulation, you may get pregnant. This period is called the fertile period or the dangerous period. A woman's ovulation date is generally about 14 days before the next menstrual period. To be on the safe side, we call the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation, together with the ovulation day, a total of 10 days, the ovulation period.
