What are the causes of an immature cervix?

If the cervix is immature, it will affect the patient's reproductive development and pregnancy. Common causes of cervical immaturity include cervical canal effacement, cervix being too hard, etc. Cervical immaturity will also have an impact on the patient's body, but it will be relatively mild, so female friends need to pay more attention to their physical condition.

Causes of an Immature Cervix

First, cervical dilation represents the degree of expansion of the cervix. When the cervix is not dilated enough to allow full-term pregnancy to pass through, it means that the cervix is not mature enough, and natural delivery is not possible or other delivery methods are needed.

Second, effacement of the cervix is one of the factors that lead to cervical immaturity, which has a lot to do with the timing of delivery. Generally, for women giving birth for the first time, the cervix will disappear first, and then the cervix will dilate again. However, if the cervix of the parturient is relatively long, it will prolong the time of delivery, making it impossible for the delivery to proceed smoothly.

Third, cervical hardness is the reason for cervical immaturity. When the cervix is too hard, it means that the cervix is not mature enough. This situation is not conducive to childbirth, so the cervical maturity is also relatively low.

Fourth, the position of the cervical opening is also related to the immaturity of the cervix. If the cervical opening is facing forward, natural childbirth is possible. If it is super thick, it means that the maturity is relatively low.
