These are the causes of vulvar swelling!

Before young women have had sex, their vaginas have a natural barrier that makes it less likely to produce bacteria and inflammation. However, after having sex, with the onset of inflammation, secretions increase and if they are not properly cleaned, inflammation can easily occur, leading to redness and swelling of the vulva. Many patients usually have vaginitis, vaginal eczema, and excessive local endocrine secretions.

1) Vulvitis.

Vulvar redness and swelling are typical clinical symptoms of vulvitis. Vulvitis is an inflammatory lesion of the skin or mucous membrane of the vulva, such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, erosion, etc., which can be caused by many clinical reasons.

2) Vaginitis.

When infected with candidal vaginitis or Trichomonas vaginitis, the secretions increase and flow to the vulva, which can cause vulvar infection to varying degrees, resulting in symptoms such as redness, swelling, and burning of the vulva.

3) Leukoplakia of the vulva.

Also known as leukoplakia vulvae. Symptoms include vulvar itching, redness, swelling and pain. The vulva skin is rough, lichenified, scratched, and even slightly atrophied; there is local hypopigmentation, and the labia majora and labia minora generally turn white.

4) Local irritation of the vulva.

If you are allergic to drugs or use chemical soaps, condoms, chlorpromazine, mercurochrome and other factors, direct stimulation or allergies may cause contact vulvar dermatitis and symptoms of vulvar redness and swelling.

5) Vulvar eczema.

When the vulva suffers from acute or chronic eczema, it is often extremely itchy, which is sometimes mild and sometimes severe. The local skin is reddened. After scratching, the vulva skin is often red, swollen, hot and painful, and is often accompanied by symptoms such as erosion, scab, thickening, roughness or suppuration.

6) Other factors.

Bad hygiene habits, lack of attention to local cleanliness of the vulva, sebum, sweat, menstruation, and vaginal secretions can cause long-term stimulation of the vulva and cause local redness and swelling.
