Symptoms of intrauterine inflammation, prevention is effective

Intracervical inflammation is an extremely common gynecological disease. Increased vaginal discharge is the most common and sometimes even the only symptom of acute cervicitis, which is often purulent. In acute gonococcal cervicitis, there may be varying degrees of fever and leukocytosis.

1. Symptoms

Increased vaginal discharge is the most common and sometimes the only symptom of acute cervicitis, and is often purulent. Because cervicitis often coexists with urethritis, cystitis or acute vaginitis, acute endometritis, etc., other symptoms of cervicitis are often masked, such as varying degrees of pain in the lower abdomen, lumbosacral region, and bladder irritation symptoms. In acute gonococcal cervicitis, there may be varying degrees of fever and leukocytosis.

Some patients are asymptomatic. Those with symptoms mainly show increased vaginal discharge, which is mucopurulent, and vulvar itching and burning caused by irritation of vaginal discharge. In addition, there may be back pain and lower abdominal pain, as well as intermenstrual bleeding and bleeding after sexual intercourse. If combined with urinary tract infection, urinary urgency, frequent urination and pain may occur. Gynecological examination revealed cervical congestion, edema, mucosal eversion, purulent secretions flowing from the cervical canal, and the cervix was tender and easily bleeding. If it is a Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection, due to the involvement of the paraurethral glands and Bartholin's glands, congestion and edema of the urethral and vaginal opening mucosa as well as a large amount of purulent secretions may be seen.

The diagnosis is not difficult based on medical history, symptoms and clinical findings. After wiping off the secretions on the surface of the cervix, insert a small cotton swab into the endocervical canal and take it out. Yellow or yellow-green mucopurulent secretions can be seen on the white cotton swab with the naked eye. Take a smear of the secretions for Gram staining. If there are more than 10 neutrophils in each oil lens field of view or more than 30 neutrophils in each high-power field of view under the light microscope, MPC can be diagnosed.

2. Prevention

1. Pay attention to hygiene during menstruation and sexual life, and pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva and vagina. Infection should be prevented after delivery, miscarriage, and cervical physical therapy, and sexual intercourse should be avoided in the short term. Avoid unclean sexual life, as unclean sexual life can easily bring in various pathogens, which can induce cervicitis and even cervical cancer.

2. Avoid chaotic sexual life. Cervicitis and cervical cancer mostly occur in married women and rarely occur in unmarried people, which shows that it is closely related to sexual life. The squamous epithelium of the cervix has not yet matured during adolescence, and sexual intercourse can easily cause the squamous cells to fall off and cause cervicitis.

4. Multiple artificial abortions or pregnancy and childbirth may cause stimulation or damage to the cervix, resulting in abnormal proliferation of the cervical epithelium, which may then develop into cancer. Unmarried women and those who do not pay attention to contraception after marriage and have multiple abortions still increase the chance of cervicitis. Therefore, it is necessary to take contraceptive measures seriously to avoid damage to the cervix caused by multiple births or artificial abortions. Avoid premature, excessive, and frequent births and miscarriages. Both childbirth and miscarriage can cause damage to the cervix, providing an opportunity for bacteria to invade.

5. Have regular gynecological examinations (once a year); avoid damaging the cervix during childbirth or with instruments; postpartum cervical lacerations should be sutured promptly.

Therefore, to prevent acute cervicitis, we must be self-disciplined, not engage in promiscuous sex, keep the genitals clean, exercise actively, and have regular physical examinations. These are not difficult tasks. Therefore, the methods to prevent acute cervicitis are relatively simple, and everyone can do it with a little effort.
