What are the side effects of tubal ligation?

What are the side effects of tubal ligation?

Tubal ligation is a common contraceptive method suitable for women who have given birth, but most women are worried about some sequelae and side effects. In fact, irregular menstruation and increased menstrual flow usually occur, but they can be alleviated after a period of adjustment.

1. The generally accepted symptoms of post-vasectomy include increased menstrual bleeding, irregular bleeding during menstruation, sexual problems, emotional instability, aggravated premenstrual syndrome, etc. Some doctors even recommend hysterectomy as a permanent contraceptive for patients because they are afraid of problems after vasectomy. Although it sounds a bit unbelievable now, you can imagine how disturbing this problem is.

2. Some people speculate that the cause of the ligation syndrome is that during the ligation, some blood vessels entering the ovaries may be damaged, and the hormones from the pituitary gland that stimulate the ovaries may be reduced, so the ovaries may not work normally.

3. There are quite a lot of studies on the sequelae of sterilization. In the past, many studies that believed that sterilization would cause problems did not take into account age, weight, whether or not the woman had given birth, previous use of contraceptives, duration of sterilization, method of sterilization, etc. In recent years, some more rigorous studies have found that the difference is not obvious. For example, in 2000, American scholar Herbert B studied 9,514 sterilized women and found that women who had sterilized did not have more irregular bleeding between menstruation periods or between menstruation periods. In Taiwan, many people undergo sterilization surgery one or two days after giving birth. However, after giving birth, about 50% to 80% of people may experience varying degrees of postpartum depression, and 7% to 30% will experience postpartum depression. Some people will blame their emotional problems on sterilization, but in fact the two have nothing to do with each other.
