What causes breast pain? Don’t worry about these 5 types of pain!

Breasts are not only a physiological symbol of women, but also an important part that affects their external image. Breast disease is a high-incidence site of female disease. Common ones include breast hyperplasia and breast cancer. Therefore, learn to care about your breast health. When breast pain occurs, many women can't help but worry whether they have some disease? In fact, women don’t have to worry about these 5 types of pain!

About half of women will experience breast pain of varying degrees, but in most cases it is a normal physiological phenomenon and there is no need to worry.

1. Pain and swelling during puberty. It is common in girls aged 9 to 13. Secondary sexual characteristics gradually appear and breasts begin to develop. As the breasts grow, a certain amount of swelling and pain will naturally occur, which is a normal developmental process. After menarche, the breasts gradually develop and mature, and this swelling and pain will naturally disappear.

2. Pain that changes with menstruation. Menstrual breast pain is based on the increase in estrogen levels in the body during the early stages of the menstrual period, which causes temporary breast hyperplasia and breast tissue edema.

The symptoms include pain with slight touch, bloating, dull pain, or occasional brief tingling sensation, which worsens 3 to 7 days before menstruation and subsides with the end of menstruation.

3. Breast pain in pregnant women. During pregnancy, the secretion of estrogen increases, causing breast enlargement and breast pain, which is common around 40 days of pregnancy and 3-7 days after delivery. As the secretion of prolactin continues to increase, the breasts will also become swollen, hardened, and painful.

4. Breast pain after abortion. Mainly due to the disorder of hormone levels. The sudden interruption of pregnancy causes a sharp drop in hormone levels and a sudden cessation of breast development, which manifests as breast lumps and breast pain.

5. Breast pain after sexual intercourse. It occurs in women with an disharmonious sexual life. Because they cannot achieve sexual satisfaction, the congestion and swelling of the breasts are not easy to subside, and persistent congestion will cause breast pain.

Normally, physiological pain does not require special treatment, and a slight hot compress can be used if necessary. Of course, breast pain does not rule out pathological pain. But it is not as many women imagine. Breast pain is not a symptom of breast cancer, but a symptom of breast hyperplasia and mastitis. Breast cancer rarely presents with pain. The most common symptom is the feeling of a lump in the breast, which is diagnosed by a doctor.
