Ovarian tumor is a common disease among women. Most ovarian tumors are benign, but the possibility of malignancy is not ruled out. Therefore, we must take this issue seriously. Ovarian tumors can be divided into several categories. Do you know how to classify them specifically?

Classification of ovarian tumors:

1. Ovarian epithelial cysts or cystic teratomas are more common.

2. Ovarian corona cyst: It is less common than ordinary ovarian cysts, and there is a significant difference in their sizes. A few larger cysts may cause severe pain if they twist. The lesions are usually unilateral, but malignant changes may occur in a very small number of patients with bilateral lesions.

3. Corpus luteum cyst: It is most common in women of childbearing age and often occurs during the luteal phase. There is a tendency for spontaneous degeneration and it is mostly asymptomatic, and there are also very few cases where it disappears on its own clinically. If a cyst ruptures, it can cause internal bleeding or an acute abdomen.

4. Rupture of ovarian chocolate cyst: The disease usually occurs before menstruation or in the second half of the menstrual cycle (luteal phase). Due to repeated bleeding in the cyst cavity before and after menstruation, the intracystic pressure increases sharply, which is prone to spontaneous rupture, compression by gravity or gynecological examination, causing the cyst to rupture.

5. Rupture of ovarian corpus luteum cyst: Usually on the 20th to 27th day of the menstrual cycle, there will be sudden lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and frequent urination and defecation. In a small number of patients, abdominal pain occurs during the middle of the menstrual period or 30 to 40 days.
