How does Traditional Chinese Medicine treat female pelvic inflammatory disease?

Pelvic inflammatory disease is one of the more common gynecological diseases in women. Generally, because the symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease are somewhat similar to those of other gynecological diseases, it is often treated incorrectly by patients. So how should traditional Chinese medicine treat female pelvic inflammatory disease?

Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment of Chronic Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

1. Spleen and kidney yang deficiency type: lower abdominal distension, dull pain, excessive and thin vaginal discharge. Accompanied by sore waist and weak limbs, chills, cold limbs and swollen face. The tongue is pale, the body is fat, the tongue coating is thin white, and the pulse is deep and fine. Treatment method: Warm and tonify the spleen and kidneys. Prescription: 5g dried ginger, 15g stir-fried Atractylodes macrocephala, 10g Poria cocos, 5g ginseng (decoction separately and take with other ingredients), 10g roasted licorice root, 10g aconite root, 5g cinnamon (taken last). Take it in decoction, 1 dose per day.

2. Liver and kidney yin deficiency type: dull pain in the lower abdomen, heavy vaginal discharge, yellow, sticky and fishy. Accompanied by soreness of waist and knees, dizziness, or early menstruation with light red color. The tongue is red with little coating, and the pulse is thready and rapid. Treatment method: Nourish yin and tonify kidney: clear away heat and warm the body. Prescription: 15 grams each of raw rehmannia, cooked rehmannia, sophora flavescens, and anemarrhena asphodeloides, 10 grams each of cornus fruit, poria, oriental water plantain, and red peony root, and 5 grams of liquorice. Take it in decoction, 1 dose per day.

3. Qi stagnation and blood stasis type: stabbing pain or distending pain in the lower abdomen, pain radiating to the lumbosacral region, a mass in the lower abdomen, pain when pressed, heavy vaginal discharge, irregular menstruation, and dark color. The tongue has dark edges with petechiae, thin white fur, and a thready pulse. Treatment method: Promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, and relieve pain. Prescription: 30 grams of Smilax glabra, 20 grams of Leonurus japonicus, 10 grams of Cortex Moutan, 10 grams of Peach Kernel, 10 grams of Gardenia jasminoides, 5 grams of Cyperus rotundus, 5 grams of Scrophularia ningpoensis, and 5 grams of Licorice. Take it in decoction, 1 dose per day.
