A woman has an extra thing on her body and can't get pregnant for life

For women, is their menstruation normal? What amount is considered standard? How to calculate it? Although these issues are a private topic, many women are secretly concerned about them.

Can't get pregnant after four years of marriage

"It is not alarmist that excessive menstrual flow leads to infertility. It is very common in clinical practice." Dong Xiaojing, the main researcher of the project and deputy director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, explained with a case in her hand: 8 years ago, she received an infertile woman who had been married for 4 years. Upon examination, all the patient's indicators were normal, but the specific cause of the infertility could not be found. The department staff conducted a series of analyses and finally agreed that it was due to excessive menstrual flow.

Dong Xiaojing revealed that although the woman's menstrual cycle arrives on time every month, the amount is much more than that of ordinary people. During menstruation, you have to change six or seven sanitary napkins almost every day, and each time they are soaked. In one cycle, you have to use twenty to thirty pieces, which is almost three times the normal menstrual volume.

After finding the cause, the doctor gave the patient a series of treatments. A year later, the woman became pregnant.

Dong Xiaojing introduced that according to the currently known medical research results, if women have excessive menstrual flow for a long time, it may lead to hemorrhagic anemia, decreased resistance, and induce gynecological diseases at the mildest. At the worst, it will increase the burden on the heart and even cause lesions in the endometrium, depriving the fertilized egg of the soil for survival and causing infertility.

Most women are too shy to speak up.

How common is heavy menstrual bleeding in women? Dong Xiaojing said that the current incidence rate in Canada is about 9% to 30%. There is no accurate epidemiological survey report in China yet, but judging from clinical consultations, the number of people with heavy menstrual flow due to irregular menstruation is far higher than that of people with light menstruation.

She revealed that the obstetrics and gynecology department of her hospital alone sees one or more patients with menorrhagia every day. Among them, many patients think that this is a private matter. Although they feel something is abnormal, they think it is not a big deal and they just need to come on time. They only go to the hospital for treatment after the flow is finally opened.

Dong Xiaojing said that there are many factors that lead to excessive menstrual flow, such as intrauterine contraceptive devices, genital inflammation, uterine tumors and blood diseases. In addition, with the increase in work pressure and changes in lifestyle, more and more women have endocrine disorders, which can also cause excessive menstrual flow.

Do not use more than 15 sanitary napkins in one menstrual cycle

Dong Xiaojing said that in medicine, the normal menstrual volume of a woman's menstrual cycle is 50 to 80 ml. If it is less than 50 ml or more than 80 ml, it is unhealthy. For women with excessive menstrual flow, the amount of menstrual flow in one cycle may reach 300 to 400 milliliters, which is four or five times the normal standard.

How do women calculate it themselves? Dong Xiaojing suggested making a preliminary judgment based on the amount of sanitary napkins used. For example, in a normal menstrual cycle of 4 to 7 days, the number of sanitary napkins used is generally around 10. If more than 15 are used, it is considered excessive menstrual flow and should be a cause for high vigilance.

She reminded that when the menstrual cycle comes, normal menstrual flow usually decreases from heavy to light and then stops. If the menstrual flow is heavy, the first four or five days may be heavy, and the sanitary napkin needs to be changed frequently, sometimes every 1 to 2 hours.

Infertility is undoubtedly a huge blow to women, and it is something every woman is willing to encounter. There are many reasons for female infertility, most of which are caused by disease. Of course, in addition to diseases, problems like excessive menstrual flow can also lead to infertility in women. I hope female friends will pay more attention to this.
