Embryo implantation process diagram

For pregnant mothers who are undergoing in vitro fertilization, the successful transplantation of test tube embryos does not mean that the in vitro fertilization is successful. It is necessary to wait until the embryo implants before it can be said that the baby is successfully born in the belly. So what is the whole process from the formation of embryos by in vitro fertilization to the successful embryo implantation? Here is a brief introduction for everyone: Detailed introduction to the process of fertilized egg implantation after embryo transfer.

(1) The sperm and egg combine to develop into an embryo that meets the embryo implantation criteria. (Day 4-6)

After the sperm and egg combined and swam in the fallopian tubes for three days, they had already undergone several breaks down and turned into a cluster of somatic cells. It entered the palace of the virgin joyfully. This place is like a warm paradise filled with delicious food. After the sperm and egg arrive here, they will be hooked by the seaweed-like ribbons in the uterus and then stuck with the mucus in the uterus. Therefore, mothers don’t have to worry about the sperm and egg falling out of the uterus.

However, the quality of the uterine wall is indeed important for the implantation of the baby's embryo. One is whether it is warm enough, and the other is whether it is nutritious enough. If the conditions are not right, the nutrients are insufficient, the thickness of the inner membrane is insufficient, and the small cell group cannot further disintegrate.

4~6 days after fertilization, the sperm and egg have not yet taken root and settled. It floats and swims in the uterus, absorbing sufficient nutrients and then disintegrating until it becomes a complete and cell-forming embryo.

(2) Embryo implantation. (Day 7-12)

Starting on the 7th day, healthy embryonic cells grow a tail-like drill to drill into the mother's uterine lining, and then develop into the fetal umbilical cord connected to the mother.

On the 7th to 10th day, the embryo finds a suitable and comfortable position on the inner wall of the uterus (usually the fundus, but mostly on the posterior wall and less on the anterior wall. Therefore, the mother should sleep on her back more in the next few days and avoid exercising too vigorously so that the small cells can remain in a certain area). Then the small twist drill begins to pierce the mother's uterus and drill in, so some mothers will feel a tingling sensation in the lower abdomen from time to time. This feeling will last for a few days. It may be that the small cells are implanting in the good position of the embryo. Some mothers may also have a little pink blood stain on their underwear, which is the blood from the drilled area. It doesn't matter.

At this time, the thickness of the mother's endometrium is very important. It must be thick enough (the thicker the better below 19 cm) to ensure successful embryo implantation. On the 11th day, all the small cells were already trapped deep in the uterus.

On the 12th day, the small cell is covered by the plant colonies growing on the uterine wall and becomes a small protrusion that blends into the uterus.

Embryo implantation occurs.

At this time, the small cells can become embryos, have already differentiated into nearly 100 cells, and have begun to secrete the chorionic growth hormone HCG. And as your life improves, your metabolism increases.

Only when there is a fetal bud, fetal heartbeat, and fetal heartbeat, can it be considered a real test tube embryo.
