Is it pregnancy if I miss my period and feel nauseous and vomit?

After a woman reaches her first menstruation, she will have regular menstruation every month. If she has sexual intercourse, she must use contraception, otherwise she will easily get pregnant. The earliest symptom of pregnancy is amenorrhea. For women who have normal sexual life and even use contraception, they should pay attention to the absence of menstruation. If they find themselves feeling nauseous and vomiting at this time, they should take relevant early pregnancy tests. So, does nausea and vomiting due to the absence of menstruation mean that you are pregnant? The chance of pregnancy is very high when this phenomenon occurs.

Pregnancy refers to the presence of one or more fetuses or embryos in a female mammal (including humans). Human pregnancy is the best studied of all mammals. Human pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks from the last menstrual period to birth (38 weeks from ovulation). Labor is the term for giving birth. Many societies and laws divide pregnancy into three trimesters. There is a high chance of miscarriage in early pregnancy. From the second trimester onwards, the fetus develops to the point where it can be tracked and monitored. In the later stages, the fetus begins to have the ability to survive outside the mother's body. Because of this ability, many laws and customs consider the fetus at this stage to be a person.

1. Stopping of menstruation

This is the most common sign of pregnancy that most people notice. As long as a woman is of childbearing age and has normal menstruation, she may be pregnant if she has sexual intercourse for more than two weeks after the normal menstrual period. This is the earliest signal of pregnancy. The longer the delay, the greater the possibility of pregnancy. However, there are many reasons why menstruation does not come, which may be due to poor ovarian function, abnormal hormone secretion, busy work, etc. Therefore, it is best to get a doctor's diagnosis, which is the safest.

For women who have a normal married life, if their menstruation is late, the first thing they should consider is whether they are pregnant. However, in addition to the absence of menstruation, it is also important to observe changes in their own physiology. Especially when you are pregnant without knowing it, you may mistake bleeding for menstruation. In the early stages of pregnancy, sometimes there will be menstrual bleeding symptoms that are similar to menstruation but not menstruation. Some women will also experience vaginal bleeding due to the implantation of the fertilized egg. Although menstrual bleeding is light in color and in small amounts, it can sometimes be a precursor to miscarriage, so it is best to seek medical advice as soon as possible.

2. Nausea and vomiting

Most pregnant women will inevitably experience varying degrees of nausea and vomiting in the first three months of pregnancy. The elderly call this "morning sickness," which often occurs in the morning. Treatment can be dietary therapy, that is, avoiding greasy and fried foods. Eating a few soda crackers before getting out of bed in the morning and drinking fruit juice can also improve symptoms. If the condition is still very serious, you can take "antiemetics" and "vitamin B6" to improve it; if it is serious enough to cause hypoglycemia, dehydration and abnormal liver function, hospitalization is required.

3. Frequent urination and the urge to defecate

After pregnancy, the uterus gradually grows larger and presses forward on the bladder, and the capacity of the bladder becomes smaller and smaller. So when the urine accumulates to a certain level, you will feel the urge to urinate and go to the bathroom frequently, but it is only a trickle, not as surging as before. The same situation also occurs in the large intestine. Once the large intestine is stimulated, there is a feeling of urge to defecate. This situation will last for 3 months, and frequent urination and the urge to defecate will also be relieved at the same time.

4. Lower abdominal pain

In addition to considering medical conditions, such as miscarriage, cystitis, gastroenteritis, uterine fibroids, etc., abdominal pain on both sides may be caused by an enlarged uterus, which pulls on the round bands that fix the position of the uterus on both sides, and is particularly likely to occur on the left side. It usually occurs after certain postures, such as standing up suddenly, bending over, coughing or sneezing, and usually disappears after 2 to 3 weeks.

Does nausea and vomiting due to missed menstruation mean pregnancy? At this time, we need to consider the patient's contraceptive situation and be careful of contraceptive failure. You can buy test strips to check first, and if you are pregnant, you must make relevant preparations. Whether to continue the pregnancy or have an abortion, you must make a choice and make a plan based on your own situation. Once you are sure that you are pregnant, you must control your emotions and avoid becoming overly emotional, as this will be detrimental to pregnancy and cause excessive mental stress.
