Who are the people with a high risk of uterine fibroids?

There are many types of diseases nowadays, including cancer, heart disease, leukemia, and the like. Among them, uterine fibroids are a kind of tumor. Many girls will suffer from this disease. Severe cases will affect the patient's uterus and even make the patient unable to conceive, which is undoubtedly a pity for them. However, there are still many people who do not understand this disease, and even do not know which groups of people are at high risk of uterine fibroids.

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumor of the female reproductive system. They are mostly caused by certain factors and can cause lumps to grow on the uterine wall. According to experts, about 20% of women over the age of 30 suffer from uterine fibroids, and five groups of people are most likely to be at high risk and need special attention.

The first category is people who are affected by genetic factors, which is manifested in racial differences and family clustering. For example, the incidence rate among blacks is 2 to 3 times higher than that among whites or Asians. People whose immediate relatives or sisters have suffered from uterine fibroids have a 4.2 times higher chance of developing the disease than those without a family history.

The second category is people with factors that lead to ovarian hyperfunction, such as polycystic ovary syndrome; there are also diseases with ovarian endocrine function, such as granulosa cell tumor and ovarian granulosa cell tumor, which can lead to the occurrence of uterine fibroids.

The third category is related to parity. The incidence of uterine fibroids is inversely proportional to the number of parities. Nowadays, people in their 70s usually give birth to four children at least. This explains why women in the past rarely suffered from this disease. This is because during the ten months of pregnancy and the six months of breastfeeding, the ovaries do not ovulate and hormone secretion is at a low level, thus protecting the health of the uterus.

The fourth category is affected by physical constitution. Why do sisters get sick while you don’t even though you eat the same food? It all has to do with personal constitution. Because hormones require receptors to work, some people's receptors are more sensitive and are easily affected by hormones, making them relatively more likely to develop uterine fibroids.

The fifth category is related to life. The first is the obesity factor. Studies have shown that for every 10 kg increase in weight, the risk of developing fibroids increases by 21%, because obese people are more likely to synthesize estrogen.

In addition, exercise can reduce the incidence of uterine fibroids. According to statistics, non-athlete college students are 1.4 times more likely to develop uterine fibroids than those who exercise regularly. Women who smoke are also less likely to develop uterine fibroids because cigarettes contain substances that antagonize estrogen. In addition, experts remind people not to abuse birth control pills. Excessive use of birth control pills will increase the amount of estrogen in the body, which can easily cause uterine fibroids.

After a brief understanding of uterine fibroids and the high-risk population, I hope that you as women can pay more attention and keep these in mind. Don't let uterine fibroids entangle you and make you unable to get pregnant and have your own children. Don't let uterine fibroids destroy your marriage and family, and don't leave any regrets in your life.
