What are the treatments for severe cervicitis?

When the disease develops to a serious stage, many people begin to panic because they don’t know what the best way is. In fact, there is no need to worry. Whether it is mild or severe, there will be corresponding ways to solve it. There are many treatments for severe cervicitis. The key is which treatment method the patient is willing to choose. The most important thing is to prescribe the right medicine for the disease. Next, let’s take a look at the treatments for severe cervicitis.

Causes and treatment of cervicitis

The cervix is the passage from the vagina to the uterus, and is also an important line of defense to prevent vaginal pathogens from invading the uterine cavity. Under normal circumstances, the cervix secretes viscous secretions to form a mucus plug to resist the invasion of pathogens into the uterine cavity. However, when the body's resistance decreases, or the cervix is affected by various factors and the secretions increase, the outside of the cervix is immersed in the secretions for a long time and is susceptible to infection by pathogens, thus causing cervicitis.

Cervicitis is the most common gynecological disease among women, and more than half of women suffer from cervicitis. Cervicitis can be divided into acute and chronic. Acute cervicitis often occurs after childbirth or at the same time as acute pelvic inflammatory disease and is often easily overlooked. The most common cervicitis in clinical practice is chronic cervicitis. In addition to increasing the patient's pain and affecting women's health, chronic cervicitis is also related to the occurrence of cervical cancer and should be actively treated.

Chronic cervicitis is mostly caused by damage to the cervix during childbirth, abortion or surgical operations, which leads to bacterial infection. Inadequate hygiene during the postpartum and menstrual periods, or unclean sexual life can also bring pathogens into the reproductive tract and cause cervicitis.

Uterine erosion is the most common local feature in the course of chronic cervicitis. Due to the infiltration of inflammatory secretions, the squamous epithelium of the cervix falls off and is replaced by the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal, which manifests as cervical erosion. Clinically, cervical erosion is divided into three degrees according to the size of the cervical erosion area: Grade I erosion (mild): the cervical erosion area does not exceed 1/3 of the cervical surface area; Grade II erosion (moderate): the cervical erosion area exceeds 1/3 of the cervical surface area, but less than 2/3; Grade III erosion (severe): the cervical erosion area exceeds 2/3 of the cervical surface area.

The above introduces the treatment methods for severe cervicitis. From this, we can see that there are still many treatment methods for severe cervicitis. Although this is only a part of it, they are options. In addition, you cannot follow the crowd in treating the disease. You cannot choose whatever treatment method others say is good. This is wrong. Everyone should choose the most appropriate treatment method according to their own condition. Only with this attitude will your condition get better as soon as possible.
