There are many types of cervical erosion, which are often divided into three degrees, such as first, second and third degrees. Third degree cervical erosion is severe cervical erosion. If there is severe cervical erosion, it is very harmful to a woman. If it is not treated in time, the harm will be greater. The probability of severe cervical erosion becoming cancerous is very high, so we must find a reasonable method to treat it in life. So what is the best way to treat severe cervical erosion? Although severe cervical erosion is rare among patients with cervical erosion, it still exists. In many cases, people suffer physical damage or complications due to severe cervical erosion, which is actually something no one wants to see. So, in response to this problem, let's talk about how to treat severe cervical erosion in detail. Cervical erosion is not entirely a true inflammatory disease, nor is it a true erosion. Because the vaginal part of the cervix is composed of stratified squamous epithelium, which is smooth pink, and the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal is finely granular, if the stratified squamous epithelium of the vaginal part of the cervix is replaced by the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal, it will appear rough and slightly bright red and granular, which is called "erosion". In the normal population, a considerable number of patients have their cervicovaginal area occupied by columnar epithelium, and even 4% of people have it entirely columnar epithelium, the so-called "third degree erosion". The columnar epithelium is exposed to the acidic environment of the vagina and stimulated by inflammatory secretions, and will gradually become squamous. If the inflammation is repeated, the metaplasia and repair process will be more intense, and various squamous metaplasia or hyperplasia will be formed. Cervical cysts are also caused by mucus retention due to the blockage of the gland openings during squamous metaplasia. The squamous-columnar transition zone of the cervix is an area where cells are active and prone to carcinogenesis. It is impossible for a doctor to determine with the naked eye whether it is normal squamous columnar epithelium, inflammatory repair, cellular dysplasia or even cancerous cells. This is why everyone panics. For patients with severe erosion, laser or microwave treatments can be used. Some patients, and even many doctors, believe that laser and microwave treatments will cause cervical contracture, making natural childbirth difficult in the future. These are all misunderstandings and are spread by word of mouth. Because laser and microwave only treat the surface tissue of the cervix and do not involve the deep connective tissue, postoperative cervical contracture will not occur. Regarding this issue, when I attended the National Gynecology Annual Conference a few years ago, experts had already discussed it and the conclusion was that there is no impact, so everyone can rest assured. Regarding the issue of focused ultrasound treatment for cervical erosion, because focused ultrasound treatment involves the connective tissue deep in the cervical tissue, it is reasonable to worry about cervical contracture after treatment. Some doctors may recommend you to do focused ultrasound and state that it will not affect future delivery. I am not reassured by this explanation because the information these doctors obtain often comes from the instructions of the machine manufacturer. Therefore, my personal opinion is: if you are still planning to have a baby, it is recommended to use laser or microwave. Another reason is that in terms of operation technology, ultrasound focusing requires higher operation skills of doctors, and in some hospitals, the doctors who perform this treatment are not fixed. So, is it necessary to undergo the above-mentioned surgical treatment for severe erosion? Not at all. As long as the cervical cancer prevention examination is normal, it is not a serious illness. No surgery is required and there will be no major harm to the body. Subsumptions can also be used. Of course, the recovery time will be longer. In fact, don't be overly nervous when treating severe cervical erosion. This will put a lot of psychological pressure on yourself and you will not get better treatment results when treating the disease. When treating the disease, you can try laser first. If it doesn't work, it is recommended to consider surgical treatment. It is very necessary to take good care of your local cleanliness and hygiene when treating cervical erosion. |
