If the nipples are itchy, scratching is not good, but not scratching is also very uncomfortable. Many women blindly treat themselves when they don’t understand the reason, and many women don’t pay attention to the phenomenon of nipples. So what is the reason for the itchy breast nipples?

Breast tenderness is a common symptom in adult women. Some women also experience breast itching or nipple itching. So, what causes it? According to experts, the cause of breast itching and nipple itching may be physiological or it may be a manifestation of breast disease. The causes of nipple itching are as follows:

1. Eczema causes breast nipple itching. Eczema-like changes in the nipple and areola are not necessarily cancer. Some are simple eczema, but they cannot be ignored. Generally speaking, if eczematous changes occur in the nipple and areola on one side and do not heal for a long time, there is a greater possibility of developing eczematous cancer. The main symptoms are: initially the nipple and areola feel extremely itchy or slightly burning, followed by redness and mild erosion of the nipple and areola skin, often with yellowish-brown or gray scaly crusts attached to the surface. The skin in the affected area is rough, thickened and hard, with clear boundaries from the four sides. Later, the nipple on the affected side may become sunken or eroded, and a hard lump may be felt in the breast.

2. Breast hyperplasia causes breast nipple itching. Suffering from breast hyperplasia, both sides of the breasts are swollen and painful, tingling or dull pain. The pain is so severe that you cannot touch or walk. The pain is mainly swollen breasts and can radiate to the armpits, chest, shoulders, back, and upper limbs. Some people also experience nipple pain or itching. The pain fluctuates with mood and menstrual cycle, often aggravated before menstruation or when angry or depressed, and significantly relieved or disappeared after menstruation.

3. Unclean breasts cause itchy nipples. Unclean breasts cause itchy nipples. You need to pay attention to cleaning them regularly. As adolescent girls begin to develop, their breasts also develop rapidly and their nipples begin to enlarge. If you do not pay enough attention to nipple hygiene at this time, it may cause nipple itching. Due to the increase in secretions at this time, it provides conditions for the growth of various bacteria. Using poor quality shower gels, soaps and bra fabrics, etc., may cause dryness and peeling, leading to nipple itching.

4. Pregnancy may cause itchy breasts and nipples. Some women may have itchy breasts and nipples after pregnancy, and the breasts may swell. This is a normal phenomenon. Just wipe it frequently with a warm towel and pay attention to local hygiene.

5. Other reasons, such as the fabric of underwear, sometimes cause breast itching and nipple itching due to friction. Intense exercise and sweating stimulation can also cause breast itching and nipple itching.

If your nipples are itchy, you must not take medication randomly. If your nipples are itchy, you should check whether you have the symptoms caused by the above diseases. If so, you should give yourself symptomatic treatment. However, if it is not one of these diseases and you are not sure, then you should seek medical attention in time for examination. If you find out what disease it is, you should use medication to treat it symptomatically.
