Causes of androgenic alopecia in women

People generally think that androgenic alopecia is a disease that only men suffer from. In fact, androgenic alopecia is also common in women. Its symptoms are that the patient loses a lot of hair on the top of the head and the hair is relatively sparse. Generally, patients have oily hair, with a lot of dry dandruff. Sometimes they will lose their hair if they scratch their scalp, which is very annoying. So what is the cause of androgenic alopecia in women? Let us learn more from the following article.

Female androgenic alopecia is also related to genetic factors and endocrine changes, but more importantly, it is a problem of sex hormones. It is well known that estrogen is the main hormone in women's bodies. When estrogen secretion decreases or androgen secretion increases relatively, androgenic alopecia can occur. This condition usually occurs in women during menopause, and rarely occurs during puberty and after childbirth. Therefore, people with normal estrogen secretion generally have better hair.

Androgens inhibit the development of hair matrix cells on the top of the head, thereby inhibiting hair growth, causing hair loss and hair follicle atrophy. It will also enlarge the sebaceous glands, increase sebum secretion, destroy the hair growth environment and aggravate hair loss. Of course, if there are no genetic factors, even if estrogen levels gradually decrease, the symptoms of hair loss will be relatively mild. In addition, people with ovarian disease may also suffer from androgenic alopecia. Various internal and external factors, including childbirth, chemotherapy, surgery and rapid weight loss, may affect the hair growth cycle and lead to hair loss in women.

Many women who suffer from female androgenic alopecia will look several years older all of a sudden, and begin to develop a sense of inferiority and suffer great mental torture. I hope that through the above analysis, you can understand the causes of androgenic alopecia in women. Then, patients with alopecia can judge whether they have the disease and be cured as soon as possible.
